Traded for Ben Wallace, Sasha Pavlovic, a 2009 2nd round pick and cash.

I like the trade for Cleveland, they needed to do something to keep LeBron happy. I don't like this for Phoenix, they should have gotten more for Shaq.

It's purely a salary dump. In fact, they'll probably buy out BOTH players.

Shaq was a terrible fit for Suns. Seven Seconds or Less unofficially left town with D'Antoni, but the rest of the talent is still geared for up-tempo/no defense, and old slow Diesel ain't helping with either. I don't think it's a big loss like you do, but Wallace and Sasha aren't an improvement, that's for damn sure. I haven't looked, but knowing your tight-ass owner, I'd say both players have contracts that will expire pretty soon. The Suns are clearing cap space and trying their damnedest to avoid the luxury tax. Close enough?

Yeah, that sucks. Not to long ago the Suns were championship contenders, now their fans have to hope that they suck bad enough to earn a high draft lottery pick.

It'll be interesting to see what deal Shaq has with Cleveland. If it's longer than one year, it'll lend more belief to Lebron staying in Cleveland after next year.

Cleveland moves up to be a frontrunner for 09-10... great trade for the Cavs... i dont think any of this stays in place for more than one season... but what a season it will be.

Do or die for the Cavs this coming year, no championship = goodbye Lebron.

The Cleveland Rockers could beat them....

I think that was the case before the trade, and is probably a major reason for the reason for the trade.

I don't see it that way at all. Even if Shaq doesn't help Cleveland, he's not going to make them worse, they didn't give anything up to get him.

If Shaq misses the entire season with an injury, the Cav's will be just as good as they were last year.

moreover, he forces teams to play hack a shaq which will allow bron to shoot from 18-23 feet, slash and dish... or, if they double lebron, go down low to diesel for the easy flush...

the lakers parlayed this to 3 titles earlier in the decade...

I'd love to see a Cav's - Lakers final next year. Shaq vs. Kobe would be great drama.

As would Shaq vs. Van Gundy in the Eastern Conference final.

ESPN is reporting that the Cavs are trying to acquire Ron Artest.
