As a Reds fan about all I can say before I go into hiding for the rest of the season  is that I wish the Reds still had Lou.

ahhh, well, if they trade Griffey and Dunn, you might as well not be a fan anymore

If they trade those guys maybe they'll get some pitching help in return. I'm old, fat and have a lousy arm and could still be on the Reds staff this year.

Apparently the latest rumor floating around baseball is that Jocketty and LaRussa are going to be out in STL after this season but they are buddies with the new/current Reds owner and he will be bringing them in to try to clean up the mess in Cincy. I don't know if there's any validity to all of that but why not, if those two get the gate in STL, bring them in and let them try to fix it. They just won the Series last season so they must know a thing or two about what it takes to accomplish that.

LaRussa or no LaRussa, it takes talent, that which the Reds would be seriously lacking if they traded those 2 guys

Cubs just traded for Jason Kendall, probably the most overpaid catcher in the game, ugh!

What's the over/under on how long it will take Zambrano to kick his ass, too? :)

What does this say for Rob Bowen, who's now on his third team this year (Friars, Cubbies, F's) via two trades? Does ANYBODY really want this guy?

The kid can't hit, thats the problem. He is a great defensive guy, but he will always be a backup if he can't hit. Backup catchers are very expendable, thus traded alot

The Cubs are the hottest team in baseball, but I swear, everytime they win, the Brewers win, they can't gain a game recently, still 3.5 back

SF: B. Zito (6-9, 4.90)
CHC: S. Marshall (4-3, 3.48)

I predict another Cubs win tonight. This is not the Zito of old

Damn bullpen!!! Cubs lose 4-2. Brewers win, so now we are 4.5 games back

Today's matchup:
SF: M. Cain (3-10, 3.53)
CHC: C. Zambrano (11-7, 3.83)

Zambrano has been one of the hottest pitchers in the majors. He is 4-1 in his last 5 starts. The only loss, he gave up 3 runs in 7 innings and left with a chance but the bullpen blew it. Other than that, he has been dominating.

On a side note, the Brewers ace, Ben Sheets is out 4-6 weeks with a distal sprain of his right middle finger

Zambrano has been awesome, only 2 Giant hits thus far

D-Backs get to dodge Sheets, and they'll probably STILL find a way to lose tonight.

Bonds in the lineup for the first time in the series. Jason Kendall in also, he went 0fer in his first game as a Cub
