Best UFC Event Ever?

Could be this Saturday night, 11July for those interested.
The card has some of the biggest names in the MMA world fighting, and it promises to be one of the best yet.
I was going to post the fight card, but I'm too lazy after I just spent a full day saving lives.
Below you'll find the link to the UFC web site, and if you're interested in this type of sport, I'd suggest going there and checking out the matches.

I am watching that mofo for sure this Saturday.
Most interested to see if Henderson is going to put the wood to Bisping. I feel they have been giving Bisping easier fighters to build up the the UK fanbase.
St Pierre vs Alves is another fight that should shed some light. We all know GSP is the shat, now we get to see if Alves can compete, or gets Fitched in his fight.

Lesner vs Mir....

IMO, Hendo is going to go through Bisping like shit through a goose! I've read quite a few articles about this particular fight, and every single one of them has Bisping talking some very, very big talk. If the Hendo of old shows up, "The Count" doesn't stand a chance!
Oddly, the fight I'm most looking forward to is Mark Coleman vs Stephan Bonnar. Mainly because "The Hammer" use to be my favorite fighter in MMA. He looked absolutely terrible the last time he fought, and far pasted his prime. It made me quite sad, so I'd like to see him make a good showing, and come out with a win in this one.
As far as the Lesnar/Mir fight, I think it all depends on which Frank Mir shows up. Quite a few of those that know MMA have Frank as the favorite, but I think the smart money should be put on Brock, even though he seems to have zero interest in submissions.

They need a new division for Lesnar. The guys fists would be like having my head on the end of each of his arms. Friggen huge. He just needs to go out there swinging Bob Sapp style and he is gonna connect on something.
When Couture fought him, he looked tiny next to that monster.

Not looking past Saturday night, but the next two UFC events have some promise!
What I think will be a fight for the ages is coming in UFC 101. Forrest Griffin vs Anderson Silva, and I'm picking Griffin in this one. The Main Event has my current favorite fighter, BJ Penn, going against Kenny Florian. The winner in this one will most assuredly be set up with a match with Diego Sanchez...the only MMA fighter that I can't stand! Whether its BJ, or Kenny in this fight, I hope Sanchez get's his ass beat silly. Recently, Diego said "I made Florian look like a C Class fighter on TUF."
In UFC 102, a couple of dinosaurs...Nogueira vs Couture. I thought Randy was retired, but apparently he isn't, and neither of these two guys have ever fought before. Should be interesting, and worth a look, IMO.

I was talking about this fight the other day with my wife, and commented how sad the UFC can't find anyone at 185 to stand with Silva, so they have to go up a division and get Forrest, who WILL stand with Silva.
Forrest always makes for a great fight. The dude would let someone pound him in the head with a bat if the UFC asked.

If I was as athletically gifted as Lesnar, I wouldn't give a shit about submissions either. He's a once-in-a-generation freak of nature. He has the quickest takedown and rapid fire punches I've ever seen, not to mention freaky retard strength.
Lesnar will dictate how long the fight goes. He could be patient like he was against Couture or go for broke like the first Mir fight. Mir will have to catch Lesnar in a submission or make one strike count. Otherwise it'll be Lesnar's fight.

One of the few fighters that I'd never bet against is Forrest. I can't tell you how disappointed I was when he lost to Rashad Evans. If those two fought 10 times, I'd pick Forrest in at least 7.
As far as how he does against Silva, I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
Of all the MMA fighters, I think there are only three that can be labeled "unbeatable" at this point. Fedor, Lyoto Machida, and Anderson Silva. Of those three, I think the first one that will get beat will be Silva. Just like Fedor, I don't think anyone is gonna' Machida for for a very long time!
Fedor has a fight coming up in August against Josh Barnett, (who use to train in Missoula), and I think this one should be VERY interesting!

I'd love to see Jeremy Horn fight in person, but I think I'm going to miss this one...I have a hard time leaving Missoula!

I wanna see a triple threat match for the UFC belt: Lesnar vs. Lashley vs. Crush.
My $$'s on Crush.

GSP wins all five rounds and wins easily. Alves tried, but too much.
Lesnar just KO'ed Mir. Lesnar was patient and picked his spots well.
And Lesnar just had the best postfight promo ever. The crowd booed him and he ate it up. Dana's gotta put his face everywhere now.
I find it hilarious that a crowd and a audience that hates pro wrestling because of the entertainment aspect of it just fell hook, line and sinker for a classic pro wrestling villain promo.

This was quite possibly the best UFC event I've seen to date. Good/great fights all around!
As was mentioned earlier, Lesnar's post fight talk with Joe Rogan was worth the price I paid to view it! It was awesome!
He flips the crowd off with both hands, and tells Rogan, "I'm gonna' go home and drink a Coors Light"...while looking at a Bud Lite logo...and says, "Cause Bud Lite won't pay me anything!" Followed by, "I might climb on top of my wife." Pure F'n entertainment, IMO!
I see Hendo's knock out of Bisping as top contender for "Knock Out of The Year"...It was DEVASTATING!!!

Exactly what I thought about the crowd too. Brock did 2 or 3 "heel" moves and it was as if Vince Mcmahon himself had orchestrated it. Lesner just himself a shitload more money with the theatrics considering the way the crowd reacted.

Not what I expected, but Brock sacks up, and explains himself in a compelling post-fight interview. Click on "full story" in the first article listed, and you should be able to find it.

I absolutely loved what Hendo did to Bisping.
I liked even more that he didnt apologize for the second forearm smash.
Said he would "do it again"

He also said..."I wanted to keep his mouth shut a little longer, and that's the reason for the punch after he was down!"
In all fairness to Hendo, the ref didn't stop the fight after Bisping went down, so Henderson did what he does best...finish the match. In this case, with extreme prejudice!
Rightly so, IMO, considering all the smack that "The Count" was talking about Hendo pre-fight , to anyone that would listen.
Thank you, Dan!!

Overall boring fights. The only one worth watching was Hendo, Bisping.
Lesnar is still fighting nobodies and has even less class than I previously thought, if that was possible.
On the plus side it's free and no commercials and other blathering.

So, Mir and Couture are "nobodies"?
Why don't you just stick to reviewing beers?!!?

Not to mention Heath Herring. He's had what, like 5 fights in the UFC and has fought some of the best heavyweights out there in those first 5 fights? Ridiculous to say that he hasn't fought anybody yet. I can't think of another UFC fighter EVER that was thrown into the frying pan like Brock was. Grizo's right PG...stick to something you know.
