BCS-vs-Utah

Did anybody catch the interview on ESPN Radio between the BCS chancellor, or whatever he is called, and the guy from Utah that submitted the petition for a Playoff type of a thing to decide national champs in their league?

The BCS guy got his ass kicked.

I have tried to find it on the net, and seem to be dumb and cannot find it.

Here's the story about the Mountain West Conference receiving a BCS contract... included in it is the pod cast from Mike and Mike that has the Orin Hatch conversation along with BCS oversight committee chairman Harvey Pearlman's response.

I bow in your general direction.

From the article:

"The proposal was denied by the 10 other conferences and Notre Dame."

Why is Notre Dame still receiving special treatment? :shake:

Its bullshit that Notre Dame is an indy and gets a BCS bid. The argument against MWC and WAC about playing a BCS game is their SOS. But Notre Dame plays a joke of a schedule every year. Sometimes they play both USC and Michigan but come on thats not a full conference slate. Its complete bullshit and favoritism. This is why Notre Dame gets their ass kicked in BCS bowl games.

Notre Dame plays a really imbalanced schedule. They lose to the good teams that they play. They have not been impressive for years, in spite of the supposed recruiting edge that they have. They do not deserve special treatment when it comes to the BCS.

Exactly. But look at this season. The only hard team they play is USC. They will lose that game and maybe win the rest and go 11-1. This will earn them a shot at the title or BCS game just because of who they are. Its bullshit. But all BCS cares about is money and they know people will watch Notre Dame even if they get their asses kicked year in and year out in BCS bowl games. They are a big middle finger to talent and real football and hold back a good team from making that bowl game.

What kills me is that the "logic" used against teams like Utah is that maybe THIS year they could compete, but they couldn't compete with the other BCS teams in the bowl games on a year-in, year-out basis. Hell, that's never stopped Ohio State, has it? They get blown out every YEAR in their BCS bowl game, but every year they play a soft Big-10 schedule and get a BCS game as a reward.
