I watched the game at work and it was incredible.
Here is the Dewayne Wise catch. The best play in the history of the game...and I'm not the only one to think so. Just ask some of the baseball guys on ESPN.
My reason why: Not for the skill alone, there have been better, but the combination of the skill involved, the fact that he was cold coming in after sitting on the bench for 8 innings, it was the first batter he was out there for and the perfect game that was at stake!

Off the top of my head I still rate Willie Mays World Series catch of a ball hit by Vic Wertz as a better play.
But that was a great play today.

SportsCenter refered to Wise's catch as the greatest play ever to preserve a no-hitter or perfect game.

i was really pissed when Fox Sports rated Edmonds catch in Kansas City above it... edmonds was 390 feet from the plate, willie was 450 or more away, and made a throw back that held the runner on second... i don't love willie the way some guys do, but there is no denying in my mind... the greatest play of all time.
wise's catch may be a top 5 this year, but Gomez's grand slam take away and Mauers diving tag at the plate are in that conversation too... so too is Ankiel's head first slam in to the wall.

You gotta love anytime an outfielder runs into a wall and makes a catch.
