Contador shows his true colors and what a little bitch he really is.

Contador, Armstrong trade barbs after Tour

MADRID (AP)—Alberto Contador and Lance Armstrong are sniping again after a fragile truce during the Tour de France.

Contador, who secured his second Tour win on Sunday in Paris, said he had no admiration for the American as a person and tensions between the two had a negative effect on the Astana team. Armstrong, the seven-time champion who finished third in his first Tour since 2005, responded that Contador should “drop this drivel.”

“My relationship with Lance Armstrong is zero,” Contador said late Monday in his hometown of Pinto outside Madrid. “He’s a great rider and he did a great Tour. Another thing is on a personal level, where I have never admired him and never will.”

Armstrong, who had criticized Contador as being inexperienced earlier this year, responded with his own salvo on Twitter.

“Hey pistolero, there is no ‘I’ in ‘team’. what did I say in March? Lots to learn. Restated,” Armstrong wrote.

The “pistolero” remark stems from Contador’s habit of celebrating victories by shooting an imaginary pistol.

“Seeing these comments from AC (Alberto Contador). If I were him I’d drop this drivel and start thanking his team. w/o them, he doesn’t win,” Armstrong added. “A champion is also measured on how much he respect his teammates and opponents.”

I've met Lance and he is actually pretty down to earth. Has a great sense of humor but is, above all, an athlete and focused competitor. It doesn't take much to know he doesn't go for the type of crap Contador spews and his self indulgence and arrogance. Good riddence and I'd love to see team RadioShack put it to him next year.

I have not met Lance, but I know he is not to be fucked with. Lance will do every thing he can to beat Contador next year, even if it means helping another team. If I were a pro cyclist, I would not want to be on Lance's shit list.

Contador is a great rider. But he is stupid and not a team guy, I have little respect for him.

The sad thing is, I'm sure he's adored in Spain for defeating the evil American doper.

No doubt. And what exactly has Spain done recently - and by recently I mean ever. The last great thing Spain did was lose their Armada to England in 1588. They can have the selfish baby Contadore.

Good Lord I hope the Spanish are smarter than the French. Contador was implicated in the huge drug scandal Operation Puerto, but the Spanish government let him off the hook with some other high profile riders.

If the Spanish feel that way, it would be just like the French when their boy Virenque was busted for drugs and then they proceeded to complain about Lance.

I too think Contador is a tool.

Won EuroCup2008... pretty big deal over there.... but that's besides the point, I think before this tour, this may have been Lance's last ride. Now though, I believe Contador has given Lance bulletin board material for his training over the next year and Lance wants to shove it down Contadors throat.

Contador's come out now and said that Lance ordered the team bus and personnel to leave AC at the hotel before the final time trial and that he had to call his brother to come pick him up. I call bull shit.

Contador wants to keep this alive. He's back in fun filled Spain bitching and whining while Lance is chillin' in the Bahamas.

Dumb move on Contadors part. I wouldn't be suprised to see Lance put a team together just to beat Alberto - even if Lance isn't the leader of the team.

Lance is respected among most cyclist compared to Contador. Contador was on arguably the best team in history which helped him win by holding off attacks left and right. Levi will follow Lance and I can see others go with Lance. Lance will probably have the better team next year, but Contador now is the better climber. I can see other teams attacking Contador more than Lance because he's the better climber and the respect issue as already mentioned.

I think Contador will be the favorite in next years tour no matter who his teammates are. The best chance to beat him might be if Lance can get the Schleck brothers on his team. Contador will have his hands full battling the Schleck brothers and Lance (especially if Andy improves as a time trialist, which he probably will with Lance as a teammate). Even if Lance can't get the Schleck brothers, it would not suprise me if Lance works with them in next years tour just to keep Contador from winning.

if Lance or someone on his team isnt in position to win next year... You just know the team orders will be to help who ever is in the best position to beat pistolero

Be interesting to see if they include a team time trial in next years tour. If Contador is on a weak team, he could lose up to 3 minutes in that race alone. Would put him in a nasty hole he might not be able to dig himself out of, even if he is the best climber.
