WTF???

The World Series does not start until October 28th....the latest regularly scheduled start ever...

If the WS goes seven games, it won't end until November 5th...and that's if there are no weather-related delays...

And since Boston, New York, Chicago, St. Louis, Detroit, Philadephia, and Denver all have a possible team(s) in the Series....and weather could/will be an issue come that time of year in any of those cities....what were the idiots at MLB and Fox thinking...

Or were they thinking?????

That is going to suck. No reason to start it that late other than greed.

Cliff Lee is 4-0 with an ERA of 0.82 since joining the Phillies.

And the middle of their lineup (Rollins/Utley/Howard/Werth/Ibanez has about 140 HR's between them. This team is gonna plow through the National League again, and probably any of the pitchers the Yankmes can muster up.

Phillies over the Angels in 5 or 6

NLCS is where the action will be Phillies besting the Dodgers in 7 again.
ALCS Angels over Yankees in 7 (less compelling but it's all we'll hear about)

Dodgers pitching can't hang with Philly.

I saw the Angels in Balto on Sunday. Those guys can flat-out hit. At least 7 guys in the starting lineup were batting .300+. :o But their pitching is suspect, so we'll see.

The Phillies biggest concern right now is the back end of their bullpen. Brad Lidge is as bad this year as he was good last year. If he doesn't turn things around the Phillies could be in trouble when the playoffs start.

I think that holds true for the Yankees as well. The Red Sox are the AL team that worries me (a Phillies fan) the most.

Red Sox won't even be in the playoffs. I'll take Victorino, Utley, Howard, Werth, Ibanez over anything the Angels can thrown together. And with a Cliff Lee/Cole Hamels/Joe Blanton trifecta, I think they've got their ticket punched to a back-to-back.

After this week, I'm officially climing on the bandwagon. :thumb: :thumb:

MLB needs to schedule a weekend doubleheader for every team every weekend. This will allow the season to finish a lot earlier. To offset the extra work one day a week MLB can expand the rosters by 2 or 3 players...
