On This Date In 1978

Post by UNHWildCats »

The Boston Red Sox had a 7.5 game* lead over the New York Yankees.

36 games later both teams were tied and a playoff game was held in which Bucky "Fucking" Dent broke the hearts of Sox fans.

Moral of the story? Don't count your chickens before they hatch....

*New York currently has a 6 game lead over Boston.... Nothing is over yet.

Add this to the things no one cares about...

Oh, and Justin Upton... one of the most electric young MLB stars was born on this day in 1987. So was Rollie Fingers in 1946

Truman Capote died on this day in 1984

Kel Mitchel (from All That and Kenan and Kel fame) was born on this day in 1978

Also on this date in 2009, Dustin Pedroia queefed himself.

one problem... the SAWKS don't have Bucky-Boy.

but please, continue beating the White Sox, and when the Tigers come to town... do the same...

but don't kid yourselves about catching the Yankees this year...
