Reports, rumors and tweets...

It appears Danica Patrick will be a bit busy in 2010.

Reports are that she will continue to drive a full IRL schedule in 2010 but will add NASCAR Nationwide and Truck series races to her schedule in a move that will land her in NASCARs top series in 2011.

The report names Tony Stewart as the "star candidate" to help Danica's transition. But Stewart doesn't have a Nationwide Series team, but there just happens to be a newly open seat in a car jointly owned by Rick Hendrick and Dale Earnhardt Jr. the former of which supplies Stewart with engines and chassis.

Neither Hendrick, Earnhardt or Stewart Haas run a truck series team and its likely that they would want to keep Patrick under the same roof for both series so this could be a thing where Stewart and Hendrick start a join venture in the truck series much like Hendrick does with Junior in the Nationwide series.

It would then be expected Patrick would run a third car at Stewart Haas beggining in 2011.

For what its worth Patrick had this to say on her twitter account this morning.

The rumors are flying about nascar!....I did talk to Tony and he is a great guy. We are looking at nascar as I have always said.

The only way she's going to find out if she can suceed in NASCAR is to try. And by working her way up trough Nationwdie and the other minor series, she's gain the respect of the NASCAR fans instead of jumping right into the big league.

After dominating the IRL as she has, it is definitely time for her to find new worlds to conquer.

I hope she doesn't jump. She's already in the better league and doesn't need to deal with the hicks and hayseeds still abounding in NASCAR. Sure, it's not all those types anymore, but they're still enough of an influence to be bad. I heard reports that drivers were intentionally knocking out other girls trying to make it in NASCAR. I'd REALLY hate to see that happen to Danica.

I think moving to the Sprint Cup series is the smartest thing she can do. She will actually be able to better promote herself and place herself in a better series.

As a hick and hayseed who lives in NASCAR country and grew up in one of the towns that helped birth the series, I say FUCK YOU. And there ain't no smilies attached to this post.

Whats the proper term for an uneducated southern then? Or northerner for that matter. And many west of the Mississippi get left out of these discussions.

OMFG I sure hope you are joking. First of all the Indy IROC League is a complete joke. Any so called professional racing series that mandates what engine (Honda) you can use is a total POS series.
As for Danika dominating thanks for the laugh. I will say this though about her...

Now concerning her racing in nascar...she can't drive an indy car, how the hell is she going to drive a stock car for up to 41/2 hours. I have driven Late Model Stocks and let me tell you it sucks after a few laps if you are not used to it. She will never make it as a nascar driver.
She needs to stick with what she is good at...Go Daddy commercials and swimsuit layouts.
