I think you are right, but there is a slim chance the NL East race could get close.
The Marlins still have 6 games left with the Phils. I think the Phils are safe, but it could get interesting if Fla can win all 6 of those games. 2 years ago the Mets led the Phils by 7.5 games with less than weeks left, but the Phils won 6 head to head meetings down the stretch and pulled it out.

Red Sox magic number is 6
Though they are only 4 behind the Yankees in the loss column now with three games left against NY and a bunch of easy games outside of that....
Boston could still win the division.

Twins with 4 next weekend against Detroit to settle the Central once and for all
I'm not a huge Ron Gardenhire fan, but I think he's your MOY given the Twins ability to overcome a dreadful season of injuries and still be in it come September...
Joe Mauer is a lock for MVP...

That's a pretty big "could".

Boston could easily sweep the Yankees... but they could easily be swept too. But if they were to sweep the Yankees that leaves 1 game in the loss column to pick up...

New York has to face LAA and Tampa along with Boston. The schedule certainly would leave it in Bostons hands... If Boston sweeps NY they will likely win the division.

Plus, the Yankees clinched a postseason spot already last night. All is right in the MLB Universe now.

Francona can be a joke sometimes... he's playing for the wildcard and not the division... Wakefield shoulda came out sooner Monday and Delcarmen never should have went in..... Last night was probably to be expected going against Greinke. I never thought they would sweep KC... but I was pretty damn confident for taking 3 of the 4.
The good news is Wakefield and Byrd wont even sniff a roster spot in the playoffs.

2- 6 since that bold statement, good thing the Rangers aren't playing any better.

Still not sure what bold statement I made, I simply outlined the remaining schedule and said it wasnt impossible for Boston to win the division.
I said Boston could easily sweep NY... and that NY could easily sweep Boston.
I then said it was in Bostons hands which it was
Nothing I said was a bold statement
Francona sucks.... Good news anyway was Matsuzaka looked good against the Yankees allowing 1 run. Lester is fine after being hit by the line drive. Boston will clinch the wildcard shortly as Texas is losing 5-2

Time to finally stick the fork in ATL? They do have a four game series against the Nats coming up and one more game against the fish (5 left) while the Rockies have the three against the Dodgers and one more against Houston (4 left).
