Finally, the Detroit Lions are winners.

With rookie Matthew Stafford leading the way, Detroit ended a 19-game losing streak with a 19-14 victory over the Washington Redskins on Sunday.

The Lions (1-2) had not won since Dec. 23, 2007 and their skid matched the second longest in NFL history. They no longer will have to hear about closing in on Tampa Bay's record 26-game losing streak set during the 1976-77 seasons.

Col, I'm down in GA and I can hear my DC friends complaining from here... it ain't pretty. On another note, I'm thinking 50-70% of the people participating in survivor leagues nationwide just bowed out and made their exit.

I'm in one that started with over 20,000 people, about 10,000 are left before this weekend. Not many people picked the Redskins this week (in part because many - like me - picked them last week against St Louis). It looked like about 1 in 50 people picked this game, but 20% of them picked the Lions.

So far, more than half of the people eliminated this weekend failed to make a pick.
The Steelers loss eliminated a few.

If the Cowboys lose that will take out a few people. Right now Dallas is losing 7-0 just before halftime.
