Loser finishes last in the Big Sky
That worked out well for you last year.Mvemjsunpx wrote:When in doubt, go with Davis.
Sounds awesome...until you get there.Grizalltheway wrote:There's actually a Yolo county? Awesome.
Yeah, I was admittedly reaching with that one. Sac had a noticeably better record than UCD last year, though, and they don't now.SDHornet wrote:That worked out well for you last year.Mvemjsunpx wrote:When in doubt, go with Davis.

Think he gets shit canned? Or are you guys stuck with him for what, the last 2 years on his contract?GoAgs72 wrote:The Aggies are not very good this year and a lot of it goes back to mediocre coaching. Gould has been a huge disappointment. He has no concept of play calling or time management . Even if it's his assistant coaches he is still responsible as the boss.
Scary. We gave our coach who had no coaching experience until this year a 5-yr contract.Green Laser wrote:Gould is the Big Sky Conference's highest paid ($250,000?) and least successful coach. That's what you get for giving a coach with no head coaching experience a 5 year contract. Huge gamble, if things go south you can't afford to get rid of him.
Like I said it's a gamble, in your case it's worked out so far. I thought you gave him the 5 years mid season after he had proven himself. I'm guessing you don't pay him as much as Gould is guaranteed.JALMOND wrote:Scary. I remember being surprised at the time that they didn't hire from within, or at least that they didn't hire someone with some sort of Biggs connection.Green Laser wrote:Like I said it's a gamble, in your case it's worked out so far. We had to do something. Barnum didn't come right out and say it, but there were rumors circulating that Idaho State was going to get rid of Kramer and go after him, or Barnum's buddy, the HC at Florida wanted Barnum as the OC for the Gators. We didn't want to risk losing him in a bidding war at the end of the season, so Roundtree sat down with Barnum and put together a package that Barnum accepted. You're right, probably not as much as Gould.Green Laser wrote:Like I said it's a gamble, in your case it's worked out so far. Many at UCD were convinced that the Sochor- through Biggs coaching tree which brought them success in D2 could not win at the FCS level . Mike Moroski their former QB who had been a assistant for about 20 years wasn't even given a interview. Moroski ended up as HC at Idaho College. They grabbed Ron Gould the running backs coach at Cal who lost his job when Tedford was fired.Mvemjsunpx wrote:I remember being surprised at the time that they didn't hire from within, or at least that they didn't hire someone with some sort of Biggs connection.Green Laser wrote:
