Yes. They were very very good. 4 out of their 5 O linemen were All OVC. Their entire D line SEC transfers. QB Eli Jenkins was a mini Cam Newton. Fast tall recievers. Flat out monsters at LB. That's one of the better FCS teams I've seen since, similar to the App State and NDSU teams of the past decade.
It wasn't Mission Impossible for CSU. We put up a fight. But it would've had to be Mission Perfect to pull out win. They were just flat out better.
Hope that wasn't the last game with Jamey Chadwell. Can't blame him if he leaves. It's a business and money talks. But damn he's done a great job here.

Their 2nd year coach is 22-3.
-The 3 losses to Michigan State last yr, SHSU last yr playoffs, Auburn (OT).
-His record vs playoff teams (regular season & playoffs) is 6-1 (2-1 last yr, 4-0 this yr).

2015....what a ride!!!
Not quite. Looking at the game notes, of their 3 listed starting DL, 2 are SEC transfers, plus the rush OLB. So you could say 3/4 of their DL are SEC transfers. (None of the 4 2nd string are listed as SEC transfer).

Doubt Houston is even considered. I love the Flex, but theres no need to go back. There are lots of other candidates, but Chadwell is my first choice...for now

Let me rephrase: Their three ORIGINAL starting D-linemen are all SEC transfers. One is injured now.

Thanks. We've been improving slowly but surely for 20 years now with the occasional nose dive and recovery haha.
The next step for our program is clearly the stadium. Fix that and the sky is the limit for us. Especially since CCU leaving and LU trying to leave means they are likely replaced by less powerful programs and leaves CSU ripe to take over the Big South and be a regular playoff qualifier.
GSU is a great fit and CSU can't afford to compete with other programs that want Coach Chadwell. I enjoyed the drive to JSU and their fans were 1st class all the way. Very proud to be a Buccaneer but seeing JSU's Stadium shows how far we have to go just to compete in facilities. CSU will always be a stepping ground for a Coach and we just have to accept that. Our job is to find young talent like Coach Chadwell and be willing to give them a shot at a head coaching job. Recruiting is everything and who would not want to come to Charleston to play in a winning football program. That actually gives you a chance at the next level (if you are good enough and have the work ethic).

If Chadwell leaves he probably takes the DC with him, but I'd love to see CSU offer the job to the current DC.
