And yet, even in a spectacularly good poll for Trump, 48% of those not supporting him in the primary said they were likely to do so in the general election,
http://www.redstate.com/dan_mclaughlin/ ... y-clinton/
JSO claimed:
"48 percent of Republicans either say they absolutely will NOT vote for Trump in the general election or that they are not LIKELY to vote for Trump in the general election."

Baloney.
March 2015 74% republicans said they wouldn't support Trum if he were nominee.
June 2015 64% republicans said they wouldn't support Trump if he were nominee.
Sept 2015 52% .....
Jan 2016 34%...

Feb 2016 28%

Even the Federalist, which has been a clearinghouse for anti Trump rhetoric from the right, in this very anti Trump Feb article cites poll data that 28% of Republicans who would refuse to back Trump in the general.
"question of which candidate “you would definitely not support for the Republican nomination for president.” Twenty-eight percent of all Republican voters would refuse to back him."
http://thefederalist.com/2016/02/22/why ... ite-house/

The # of Republicans who would refuse to back Trump in the general now isn't even close to the 48% that JSO claimed. It is closer to half that, and has been trending downward...

It wasn't 48% who said they definitely would not support Trump. The lady said that 48% either said they definitely would not support trump OR were not likely to support him. I am accurately reporting what she said.

There's no link because I saw it on TV.

What is your point? What about Republicans who might just sit out the election in despair over this bloviating rube of a candidate? We need to muster people to the polls to vote GOP "down ballot" even if they hate Trump. That's my plan: if Trump gets the nod, vote Gary Johnson and straight Republican otherwise.

Even if the illuminati like 89Hen think that's "irrational." Have to try to maintain a conservative Congress to thwart Hildabeast and her mindless minions like dback

And the Political Machine that is Hilary cannot be bartered with it can't be pleaded with
It cannot be stopped

Please Note: When she gets elected
That will make it three presidents in a row with a vagina (a bad trend)

If you vote for anyone but Trump, then you are voting for Hillary.

And if you vote for Trump, without caring about who controls Congress, you are saying that you don't care if this American Experiment , now 240 years old, goes down in flames, just so Ubercluck can have the thrill of seeing both parties ( or at least one) melt down. :tothehand:

Hey numbnuts, I was agreeing with you. My link was showing that 48% would likely vote for him in the election. :ohno:

I couldn't find anything in the articles you linked saying that but even if it's true it's not inconsistent with what the lady said. BTW I wish I could give you her name but I didn't write it down. She's with the National Review and anti Trump so you can take that into account. But the fact that she's against Trump doesn't automatically mean she's lying.

Anyway she said that 48% of Republicans either say they absolutely will not vote for Trump or are not likely to. If the 28% figure goes with "absolutely not" and you have 20% saying "not likely" that's 48%. And if it's true that 48% say they would likely vote for him that's actually a pretty darned low number. Obviously it's mathematically possible to have 48% say they either will not or probably won't vote for him and have another 48% say they probably will vote for him. But if you've only got 48% of Republicans...less than half...sayiing they're probably going to vote for Trump in the general if he's the nominee it's pretty clear that the Republicans are going to be in trouble if Trump is the nominee.
