This is the one of these campaign debates I've watched in many years. I think the last one I watched was G.W. Bush vs. Gore in the general election.
And now that I'm watching the Trump thing is even more frightening than I thought. He obviously has no clue. They ask him a question and he gives them incoherent gobbledygook. I mean seriously. If you are watching you have to know what I'm talking about. Other candidates are asked questions and give relatively concise, intelligent sounding answers. Trump is asked a question and he comes with this rambling nonsense that doesn't even answer the question.
What the HELL is wrong with people? I knew this guy is a buffoon. But he's even more of a buffoon than I realized. What the HELL are the people supporting him thinking?

You're so full of it. Trumps answers through the 1st 20 min (I'm a little behind) on trade & H1B visas & immigration was just as concise and intelligent as the others. I thought they all gave good, intelligent answers about what they would do dealing with this issue. And I'm not even a Trump guy (like I've said multiple times leaning Cruz). But you have a major case of TDS- Trump Derangement Syndrome. You're keep on calling Trump a buffoon and asking what the hell is wrong with people. Its not what's wrong with other people- Its what's wrong with YOU.JohnStOnge wrote:This is the one of these campaign debates I've watched in many years. I think the last one I watched was G.W. Good GRIEF. Did you hear him answering the question on Social Security? I mean come ON man. You're so full of it. Trumps answers through the 1st 20 min (I'm a little behind) on trade & H1B visas & immigration was just as concise and intelligent as the others.
And all he said about H1B visas is something like "I do it because I'm a businessman but it's bad for business. It's very, very bad."

Granted on FICA his answer was the weakest (doing nothing to it while increasing GDP and jobs). Cruz & Rubio I thought the best answers, Kasich in between (do nothing to retirement age, people who have wealth when they retire get less)

If a President knew all the answers, then why would he need a cabinet and advisors?
Just as I said about Herman Cain back in 2012, this idea that any of their answers in any of these debates would have any legitimate impact on their actual presidency is ludicrous.
Honestly I would still trust Trump moreso than anyone else on the Republican side at the helm. Cruz has the personality where he would actually believe that he was 100% right on every issue and not compromise. Rubio has no legitimate personality and would be an absolute pushover as President. Kasich would be a close second and I think would make a great VP for Trump. (He needs a haircut btw

That was the most civil debate of all 11, coming on the heels of the big hands debate #10, which might have been the most contentious, in the mud. There was no brown on brown that we saw in earlier debates, Cruz basically ignored Rubio, Cruz's criticism's of Trump were mild, Rubio went back to 3 debates ago and prior where he didn't attack Trump..Trump didn't attack Cruz or Rubio. Wow, I was expetecting mud wrasslin and it was very civil. Might have been the most substantive debate, too.
Thought they all had good nights.
-Cruz was on point
-Kasich was on point
-Trump was more like trying to run out the clock, played it conservative
-Rubio might have had the best night of all. He was on point on numerous issues, throwing out a lot of substance yet without sounding robotic. Too bad for him its too little, too late.

Wouldn't surprise me to still see Rubio win Florida. Last night was way too civil for this whole show. We need some non-Trump winner-take-all state victories by Rubio and Kasich to get the brokered convention, which will be beyond pure gold. It will be triple platinum with diamond sprinkles. C'mon, Little Marco! You can win one state baby. Let's make it the home one.

Just what do you think he said? Youtube has the Republican debate in pieces. This piece is the one in which Donald Trump talked about H1B visas:He said more than that on the H1B visas..you're just over reacting..and he did a good job explaining how the US has gotten hosed on trade.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K4u1xSQzg2g
I am actually going to go through the trouble of transcribing what he said. There were two Question/Answer sessions involving Trump ont he issue of H1B visas. Here is #1:
Here is #2:Q: Mr. Trump, your critics say your campaign platform is inconsistent with how you run your businesses, noting that you've brought in foreign workers instead of hiring Americans and your companies manufacture clothing in China and Mexico. Why should voters trust that you will run the country differently from how you run your businesses?
Trump: Because nobody knows the system better than me. I know the H1B. I know the H2B. Nobody knows it better than me. I'm a businessman. These are laws. These are regulations. These are rules. We're allowed to do it. And frankly, because of the devaluations that other countries...their monetary devaluations...that other countries are constantly doing and brilliantly doing against us it's very very hard for our companies in this country in our country to compete. So I will take advantage of it. They're the laws. But I'm the one that knows how to change it. Nobody else on this dias knows how like I do. Believe me.
That is rambling nonsense. I mean really. I am astounded that you would say he provided some kind of cogent discussion on H1B visas. He sounded totally lost. Either that or he just isn't capable of expressing himself effectively when it comes to actually having to explain things.Q: Mr. Trump, I do want to come to you...will you also in your answer address how long you think that pause would be and what that pause would look like?
Trump: Well first of all I think and I know the H1B very well and it's something that I frankly use and I shouldn't be allowed to use we shouldn't have it. Very, very bad for workers. And second of all I think it's very important to say, well I'm a businessman and I have to do what I have to do and it's sitting there waiting for you but it's very bad it's very bad for business in terms of...a...it's very bad for our workers and it's unfair for our workers and we should end it. Very importantly the Disney workers endorsed me as you probably read and I got a full endorsement because they're the ones that said and they had a news conference and they said that he's the only one that's going to be able to fix it because it is a mess. I think for a period of a year to two years we have to look back and we have to see just to answer the second part of your question where we are where we stand what's going on. We have to take sort of a strong good hard look and come up with plans that work and we're rushing into things and we're just we're leading with the chin we're leading with people that don't know what they're doing in terms of our leadership. I would say a minimum of one year maybe two years.
