Griz Hangover?
I haven't been able to check in for quite awhile due to my schedule. I was wondering if anyone's seen evidence of what seems to be an annual mass case of the "Griz Hangover," wherein everyone who plays UM craps out the following week, regardless of how their game against the Griz actually came down.
Is it happening in 2016?
Is it happening in 2016?

SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.

Re: Griz Hangover?
No, just a BS myth propagated by people who need to rationalize our losses. I remember once upon a time someone actually crunched the numbers and the correlation was very, very slight
This opinion will probably be unpopular

Re: Griz Hangover?
UNI lost the week after playing Montana...but it had nothing to do with playing Montana.
UNI physically dominated Montana for 60 minutes but gave up a 13 point swing on special teams.
The next week UNI went to EWU and lead EWU 24-7 at half. After missing a handful of field goals, giving up a special teams TD (for the second week in a row), and not making adjustments UNI lost in the last minute
Sure, it will go as a loss following the Montana game, but the Montana game had nothing to do with it.

So far we're 4 for 5. Book it.

Re: Griz Hangover?
Montana had 206 yards of offense in the game, 73 in the second half. Averaged 2.5 yards per carry and 3.2 yards per play. Adding in punt return yards - which includes the 78 yard PRTD - Montana still had less yards offense than UNI.AZGrizFan wrote:Mmmm hmmm....keep telling yourself that, slick.clenz wrote:UNI lost the week after playing Montana...but it had nothing to do with playing Montana.

And more importantly, lost THAT game. So I guess we know who physically dominated when it counted.AZGrizFan wrote:And STILL you lost the following week. Re: Griz Hangover?
The loss had nothing to do with a Griz hang over. UNI came out and dominated every aspect of the first half. EWU adjusted and in typical UNI fashion there were none.AZGrizFan wrote:And STILL you lost the following week. Had EWU come out and run up and down the field on UNI? Sure.

We played shit that first half. Similar to the 2nd quarter against Davis.clenz wrote:UNI lost the week after playing Montana...but it had nothing to do with playing Montana.

St francis and MVSU are not by any stretch of the imagination real adversaries, in fact, there are many D2 teams that could beat them. Don't know if you could do an analysis using teams like this?
Still a win is a win, unless strength of schedule becomes a factor for any reason at the end of the year. smart of stitt and the AD to schedule teams like this considering all the changes this year.
EWU will have a good strength of schedule. You will see UNI in the playoffs, book it?

UNI didn't physically dominate shit and I watched the same fucking game in the same place you did. Physically, we did just fucking fine against your team. As I told you after that game, we truly played like shit and if we hadn't you'd have been in serious fucking trouble because it would have been severely lopsided.clenz wrote:UNI lost the week after playing Montana...but it had nothing to do with playing Montana.

UNI did play fairly shitty as well but your chickenshit yards measurements are getting to be a bit of a fucking asshole move so if we are looking to act like assholes then I am willing to get into this for sure.
I've had enough of listening the "physically dominated" bullshit from you on this game.

Don't forget that he kept UNI above Montana in his AGS ballot immediately after the loss. It's almost like, if UNI loses to a non-MVFC team, it's some sort of fluke that didn't really count.

The fact is the Griz have a harder schedule overall still to go for this to be a possibility.
UNI has lost 2 against 2 good teams, and in close games.

Ill tell you in a few days after SUU plays Davis. I doubt your theory will hold in this case however. At least I hope not. After the UM loss Im sure SUU will be looking to take out their frustration on the cows.

Now "THAT THERE" is funny, hats off to you.
Didn't realize you thought this 0-6 team you beat is part of the toughest part of the griz schedule I was referring to.
