You mean the system QB whose supporting cast did very well with Jimmy Garappolo.

You mean the supporting cast that's interchangeable over the course of 5 SB wins?

It's a hell of a system.

I really didn't have a rooting interest in this game, but the look on his face was worth the price of admission.

No

When you lose a game like that is fucks people in the head. I dont think Atlanta will ever be the same, you can tell by the way they handled the loss and talked to reporters after the game.

No. Last year Carolina looked like unstoppable wife, er, world beaters led by the bestest QB ever in Cam Newton, and then Denver happened. Turned 'em into a bunch of whiny losers. Atlanta's headed down the same path...

For sure Jimmy would have played a good game - I don't doubt that
and the New England "System" is real, they are a system based team

But only one QB in the league today comes back to slap down 31 consecutive in the Superbowl
and it ain't Jimmy Garoppolo

If Brady is a system QB (he's not) why don't all those system QB'S from Houston, Texas Tech and Washington State ever pan out in the NFL?

I will answer for you, because nobody is as good as Brady.

So you like a system based team? One that can plug in different QB's and still win games?

Yeah, that's a game that people don't come back from. One of the most epic chokes not just in football but in sports history. Atlanta is already dead man walking for next year.

Well, they were 3-1 without him and just plugging in any ol' QB to start the season. And it's not like the QB's they put in even really struggled a lot in those games.

I have mixed feelings about "System" team design...
Because it always takes great players to make great plays and win games

But a system helps cover for a deficiency in one area or another
For example the Patriots don't need stellar linebackers to win games
In fact their linebacker core is really meager

The Falcons however do with their design

Whatever, you can't tell me Brisco didn't struggle and Garroppalo won because the Cards missed a FG.

How many of the "not Tom Bradys" have won Superbowls?

I was asking because Andy Reid is great at this. The Eagles plugged in QB after QB several years and every one of them won.

Yup...
And the better the QB the farther they went

That next to last ATL possession why not just run the ball 3 straight times up the middle to burn clock and set up a FG from a range your kicker was 9 for 9 from on the year, which would have made 31-20? Would have been game, set, match. Instead the Falcons call a pass play, take a huge sack and have to punt. Idiotic. :dunce:

I vaguely remeber Seattle 2 years ago trying some cute pass from the 1 yd line when all they had to do was run their bulldozer Lynch for an easy TD, game set, match. Instead Wilson throws a pick and Seattle loses. Idiotic. :dunce:

2 of the last 3 Super Bowls won by New England with amazingly idiotic decisions by coaches with 8 figure contracts. Amazing.

And there was that year Brady was hurt and NE went 11-5. Not too many teams can do that with their backup QB. Brady is an elite QB, but not the GOAT.

Saw this on Twitter this morning:
"Tom Brady and Bill Bill Belichick's Patriots teams have never scored in the first quarter in their seven Super Bowl appearances"

Not sure if it is actually true, but if it is, it's an interesting stat.
