SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.

Guess what milestone Danica just hit? 170 Cup races, running in top equipment, with 0 wins, 0 Top 5..

The problem isn't this phony "recitation of 'fact.'" It's the inherent misogynistic assumption that Danica's somehow at fault for each of these wrecks. It's wrong-headed.93henfan wrote:Do you always call people who recite facts a jerk? That's curious behavior.SuperHornet wrote:

When did Flaggy insinuate she was responsible for all of them? This weekend she was actually in two wrecks!SuperHornet wrote:The problem isn't this phony "recitation of 'fact.'" First one was Dale Jr's fault (he just lost control braking into turn 11 and skidded backward right in front of her), while the second was her fault. She was trying to take a third line outside on a 90 degree right turn. Common sense would dictate she needed to lift. Inside position is king there.
BDK and I watch more NASCAR than anyone here. I'd place fault at 50/50 on Danica over her career. Sure, she's a terrible driver (we all can see that), but she does have some pretty bad luck as well. I think other drivers drive differently around her because they just expect bad things to happen, and they often do!

Fewer wrecks happen at the front of the pack.

Dale Jr's last superspeedway race. NASCAR needs Jr to keep ratings up until November. Jr needs a win to make the playoffs. Suddenly the 22nd place driver in the standings has a world class car that is the class of practice and just took the pole for the Firecracker 400. And his team takes three of the top four spots. Hendrick Motorsports couldn't have gotten a wink-wink from the France family now could they?
Hmmmm.
I love me some Jr, but Alex Jones would have a field day with this.

Re: 2017 NASCAR Thread
Edit, 93 beat me to it. All of the top 12 are Chevy & Ford. The 4 JGR and 2 affiliated Furniture Row Toyotas did not have the speed, and the other 2 Toyota's were 36 & 37.. For the 500 back in Feb 10 of the top 12 were Chevy & Ford, and if you add in Dega in April Toyota hasn't had anyone qualify in the top 3 at any of the plate races. Which is frankly shocking considering how dominant they were a year ago..

Re: 2017 NASCAR Thread
Well, maybe not if going by his comments last week. But his last appearance as a full time Cup driver. At a track that his daddy won, and died, at. At a track that Junior won at the next race after his daddy died, and has won 17 Total races at, including 4 Cup races (2 500s and 2 400s). This would be storybook if Jr could win this one. All would be right in the NASCAR world (at least for a little while)..with an attendance and ratings boost to boot.93henfan wrote:Tinfoil hat: on

Fucking Paul Menard...
Well, the only glimmer is Kurt Busch won the 500 with damage at least that bad that happened in the 1st half of the race. Course that was a longer race and there was a # of huge wrecks. Something like 34? of 40 cars had damage..

Re: 2017 NASCAR Thread
NBC fucking sucks..A little 'Big One" happens and they're on commerical break. If they were on split screen would have seen it live. And they could have immediately cut from the commercial. After 95 got into Kyle Busch in the side, Kurt Busch might have gotten in to his brother's rear. Either way Kyle turned & it caused a big one. Logano, Austin Dillon, Truex out. Kyle Busch heavy damage. McMurray & Danica damage. Few others...

Jr back on lead lap. Now to see if car is still competitive with the aero damage and any tow issues from the wall hit.

Fuck me running. Jr is jinxed. Fights back to 6th and Harvick blows a tire right in front of him and takes him out.

NBC's scrolling ticker went berserk during the second of their NASCAR Non-Stops during a caution.
I have never seen a worse-produced sports telecast in modern history. This is remarkably terrible.

Re: 2017 NASCAR Thread
14? cautions (or a doz excluding the 2 stage cautions). At least a half doz major multi car wrecks. Just like the 500, 75-80% of the cars with damage. At the red flag to clean up the debris from the latest 8 car wreck where Larson went completely airborne, now you have with 6 to go, maybe 3? to go on the restart, the top 3 Ty Dillon, David Ragan, AJ Allmendinger. We're already well over 3 hrs. Good thing not a 500 race..What a shitshow.

And they get about a 1/2 lap after the restart before multiple cars spin causing caution #15 with 3 to go. Overtime..

What was that about 3 1/2 hours? A 500 at that pace of cautions would have been closer to 4 1/4-4 1/2 hours.
