I've watched him over the years and I don't think he's anywhere near the top of the list in terms of the best receivers to come out of I-AA/FCS. I think he will play. But his best 40 at the combine was 4.62 seconds. He's downright slow by NFL wide receiver standards.
I'll go ahead and say I don't think he's ever going to amount to much in the NFL. But the nice thing is that if it turns out that he does you guys can link this post and tell me how wrong I was.
Larry Fitzgerald 4.63
Jerry Rice 4.71
Cris Carter 4.63
Anquan Boldin - 4.71
Brandon Lloyd - 4.62
Hines Ward - 4.55
Brandon Marshall - 4.52
Dez Bryant - 4.52
Antonio Brown - 4.47
It's not all about speed as you can see from the list above. Kupp has great hands and makes catches other receivers drop, he also runs great routes and his QB's had confidence in him. I would love to have see Green Bay get him.

Nice work, Gil!
I wonder what Stever Largent's 40 time was?
Kupp is about as chippy as it gets when it comes to being overlooked. Having only two offers out of high school (EWU and PSU) drove him through college. And based on his performances against 4 Pac-12 secondaries and future NFL talent, his speed does not prevent him from getting free.
Just like with Baldwin and the staff at EWU, his work ethic and preparation have blown away the Rams staff. He comes into rookie camp looking like a 10 year veteran. He's very good at his craft.

From what I could find, Largent was between 4.6 & 4.7

So was Steve Largent. Now he's in the NFL HoF....

Well...
He's going to get single coverage for the bulk of his first season in the NFL
No self respecting NFL defensive coordinator would do otherwise
Tavon Austin will get the double
So He'll have every opportunity to succeed
and JohnStwong also told us how "below average" Carson Wentz was going to be
Keep that in mind

I know it's still early in his career, but the numbers seem to back him up so far.

And how Zach Zenner was a better NFL prospect than David Johnson.

No I didn't. I don't know where you got that.

The nice thing is we'll get to see. Like I said I've watched him. I don't think he's that great. I think the idea that he was ever the best player in FCS is ridiculous.

Kupp is legit. In 2015, Kupp had 179 yards and 2 TDs on 9 receptions in the 1st half before being injured against a UNI secondary with several NFL players (Hall drafted by the Bears in 2016 and on the roster, Dorleant FA with Packers in 2016 before being waived this year and Kilfoy on a camp roster). Talking heads can question the competition that Kupp faced all they want but that UNI defense and the secondary in particular was as good or better than many P5 teams and he lit it up.

He probably ran the best routes and had the best hands of any FCS receiver since Rice. That's not an exaggeration.

Then you haven't watched him.

I normally trust your football sense John..
But this kid was doubled on every snap from his Junior season on
The Griz LITERALLY lined the safety up 15 yards off of him every snap with the DB playing press
Every Snap and that goes for the bulk if the Big Sky Defenses as well
and the guy had over 100 catches
1700 yards a season
and 14.5 yards a catch
Like clockwork
McNeese State
as a TEAM has 300 more yards passing than Kupps individual statistics

Yep. In 2015 we "held" him to just 118 yards in 6 catches (oh, and one TD pass he threw...THAT'S how dangerous he was)....when the Griz won 57-16. Last year? Mmmm......not so good. 140 yards receiving and 3 TD's....and EWU wins 35-16. As Kupp went, so went EWU.

Reeeeeach! Hope!
"Hope" is thinking #2's automatically step up to #1's quality when #1 leaves for the NFL. You've lost arguably the best FCS receiver EVER. And there's not gonna be a letdown or drop in talent? Let's see how that #2 does when he's constantly double teamed....

Nobody is saying Cupp's talent will be automatically replaced so quit making shit up.
Hope is a Griz fan thinking EWU's offense will finally be stoppable for a few years. It might but there are reasons to believe we'll be fine. Should we go back and look at your prognostications when Kaufman, Edwards, and Hurd graduated?
Reach is blaming Kupp for the 2015 loss because he only had 118 and a TD. Or when we put up 46 in the NDSU game when Kupp went down early. There have been several games where Kupp was injured or triple teamed and I'm pretty sure we did alright.

Heck I'm just glad I don;t have to worry about them beating the Washington Huskies any more

It had a different label then but Randy Moss was a I-AA/FCS receiver. No WAY Kupp is as good as Moss was.
