How about Tech vs WV? That'll be a good one.

I'll be watching WSU at Cal. Always fun following Beau who might be the front runner for the OSU job. Plus, depending on which poll, and with wins this weekend, all 3 Washington DI schools might be in the top 10 next week.

Re: I-A Game of the Week - WEEK SEVEN
Hey, Jon, thanks for asking. And YES! Tech IS playing this weekend...in fact, they've got a tough road game against a game Virgina Tech squad that just gave TCU all they could handle last weekend. Texas Tech looks to improve to 5-1 this Saturday when it plays West Virginia in Morgantown. Here are five things Texas Tech fans need to know about the Mountaineers:dbackjon wrote:Hey, is Tech playing this weekend?AZGrizFan wrote:How about Tech vs WV? That'll be a good one.
Their Florida transfer quarterback: West Virginia might have the most underrated quarterback in the Big 12. Will Grier, a Florida transfer, is in his first season starting at quarterback for the Mountaineers and is excelling. Grier is second in the Big 12 in total offense with 376 total yards per game and third in passing yards per game with an average of 348.
Through five games, Grier has thrown for 1,740 yards, 16 touchdowns and four interceptions. Texas Tech's defense will have its hands full trying to contain Grier and the Mountaineer offense.
A new offensive coordinator: West Virginia's offensive improvement is coming under offensive coordinator Jake Spavital. Spavital, the former offensive coordinator at Texas A&M, has West Virginia at fifth in the Big 12 in scoring offense, third in total offense, second in rushing offense and fourth in passing offense. Spavital is also the the younger brother of Texas Tech linebackers coach Zac Spavital.
Dominance against Red Raiders: Texas Tech has lost three straight games to the Mountaineers. In those losses, Texas Tech's normally prolific offense has been limited to 34, 26 and 17 points.
Last year, Texas Tech lost 48-17 in Lubbock. West Virginia put up 650 total yards while limiting the Red Raiders to 379 total yards, and that was with Patrick Mahomes at quarterback. The Red Raiders have gotten off to a nice start to their season at 4-1 and No. 24 in the latest AP Top 25 poll, but a win over a team that has consistently beaten them would help put the Big 12 on notice.
No longer ranked: While Texas Tech might be in the AP poll, West Virginia isn't. The Mountaineers were No. 23 last week, but their 31-24 loss to TCU knocked them out of the poll to unranked status. Still, West Virginia isn't your average unranked team.
The Mountaineers gave TCU a good game in Fort Worth. Grier passed for 366 yards, three touchdowns and one interception as West Virginia outgained TCU in yards 508-406. TCU's defense was able to get stops at the right times to keep the Mountaineers at bay. West Virginia will be looking to get back in the poll for the rest of the season.
Underwhelming at home against Big 12: West Virginia has the talent to give teams headaches, but they aren't as good as home as one might think. Under head coach Dana Holgorsen, West Virginia is 23-24 in Big 12 conference games, including a 12-11 record at home. Even with a talented team, this is a winnable game for Texas Tech.
Should be a great game, and it's available for viewing on ESPNU @ 11:00 A.M. for all you legions of interested fans.

I'm afraid you need an ACT score higher than 20 to get into Cal.kalm wrote:Down goes Wazzu. Wait till these three guys get EWU quality skill position players.

Turns out App @ Idaho was a good game. App down 20-0 mid third quarter, then storms back and scores 23 straight to pull off the win.
