I'm now a Kendall Fuller fan after all those tweets.93henfan wrote:

Yup, thank God for Daniel Snyder. I hope he lives to past 100 and is at the reins of the Redskins all the way. Hard to say is Smith is even better than Cousins - remember, QB's under Reid tend to play better for Reid than they do when they go elsewhere. No guarantee that the 'Skins will even get the Alex Smith of the past few years.93henfan wrote:Another terrible Redskins trade. God bless Daniel Snyder.
Trade a decent QB for a slightly better QB when you are nowhere near a Super Bowl team, but give up a young stud CB in Kendall Fuller.
Snyder just doesn’t get it. I’m OK with that.

So I have a couple Skins friends who are asking whether the Skins could tag Cousins again and then trade him to get something in return. I'm not up on this whole franchise tag thing, but that doesn't sound like an option to me. Any of you guys know the definitive answer?

Re: 2017 NFL Season Thread
I think I found my own answer.

http://www.nbcsports.com/washington/red ... -heres-why
As was discussed over the past days, the only way the Redskins could trade Cousins would be to apply either the franchise tag or the transition tag and have him sign it. That would put Cousins under contract to the Redskins for one year and they could have worked out a deal with another team.
But part of the problem is money. The Redskins will have about $35 million in salary cap space after Smith’s $17 million cap number factors into the equation. The tags go against the cap immediately so the $35 million for the franchise tag or the $29 million for transition tag would have created a cap squeeze. For example, they would have been unable to use any cap space to lock up their own free agents, players like Zach Brown.
The cap hit would go away after a trade was executed but even so there is another major sticking point. Any sign and trade deal would require Cousins’ cooperation and he now has no incentive to cooperate. He might have gone along with it to ensure that he got to a new destination this year. If he didn’t cooperate, he could have remained in Washington on a tag for a third straight year.
But now, the threat of forcing Cousins to spend another year in limbo is off the table. If they did tag Cousins, he could simply sign the tag and say he’s looking forward to offseason workouts. That would put the Redskins in a sticky situation with both Smith and Cousins under contract.
On top of that, why would Cousins agree to a trade, something that would take players and/or draft picks away from the team he is about to join?
Re: 2017 NFL Season Thread
Redskins players seem to love this trade:
http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/2227 ... all-fullerSwearinger, though, took it one step further. His initial comments after the trade stemmed from wondering whether it was a joke to a three-word tweet: "This is unbelievable." His opinions grew harsher after he woke up Wednesday.
It started with a tweet that read, "Never Saw Any Bulls--- Like This In My Life!! Idc who i rub wrong because you never sat in a meeting nor put in work with my dawg!! People say they wanna win right but you throw away your best defender!?!? Somebody you can set a standard with?!?! #Defense will win championships!!" A short time later, he tweeted that the Redskins took a "Major Step down from the best slot corner in The Game!!"
Swearinger later deleted both tweets.

Word is the Jets are the most likely landing spot for Cousins. Browns are up there too.Gil Dobie wrote:None of the Vikings QB's are under contract for next year.dal4018 wrote: No way Bridgewater still has not played!!!!!

Technically the Vikings have a QB under contractGil Dobie wrote:None of the Vikings QB's are under contract for next year.dal4018 wrote: No way Bridgewater still has not played!!!!!
Undrafted rookie, Kyle Sloter from Northern Colorado is under contract
Vikings are high on him - though probably not as a starter in his second year in the league.
Based on who the OC candidates are I think it's Teddy's job.
Keenum probably ends up in Denver
Bradford weights his options and either retires or takes the second string job in Minnesota at a reduced rate in case Teddy isn't actually good to go

Eagles Fan Punches Woman
Eagles fans can be bad, but punching a woman in the back of the head............
Eagle Fans
In fact, when the Vikings marched down the field and scored on the first drive of the game, we kept our cheers to a minimum.
Then I got punched in the back of the head.
Apparently a grown man was so upset that the Vikings had taken the lead that he felt the need to lash out.
That was the last straw for me. I texted a fan hotline to register a complaint but got no response.

Eagles fans can't have it both ways. You talk with pride about how the Vet used to have a judge on premises for Eagles games and then complain that Vikings fans are whiny and soft for complaining about the behavior of a bunch of douche bags. So which is it? Are you proud of having the 2nd crassest fans in the NFL (after the Raiders)? If you are then you should embrace it and stop whining when other fans call you on it. You sound like Patriot fans complaining about being called cheaters.

We're not complaining about anything. We know he have boisterous fans who scare soft Midwesterners, and we actually enjoy listening to the faggoty whining, because it validates that the ruse worked.UNI88 wrote:Eagles fans can't have it both ways. The only problem with that description is that this "soft Midwesterner" actually spent 3 summers in Philly while he was in college so he's quite familiar with Philly and it's fans. Calling them "boisterous" is like saying that Charleston, SC is warm with a little humidity in August or that Hillary Clinton is a little untrustworthy. They're not boisterous they're boorish and the only NFL fans that are worse behaved are in Oakland. And for the record, I can be just as big of a douche as Eagles fans so this isn't a holier-than-thou criticism. I love Philly and while the Eagles aren't my favorite team I do like them and will be cheering for them to win this game.93henfan wrote:We're not complaining about anything. Re: 2017 NFL Season Thread
I've only ever been in one fight (sort of) at an Eagles game and that was with another Eagles fan. It was a December MNF game against the Seahawks in ~2005. The Eagles roster was decimated. The QB was Mike McMahon and he had thrown multiple INTs. There was a driving snow storm going on and everyone was angry. Well, the moment I had been waiting for finally arrived. One of the Seahawks defenders got a straight run on McMahon and I stood up and cheered loudly when he was leveled and put on his back. A guy a few rows behind me threw a beer at me and I beat the security guard to him by a step just in time to get one good shot to his face before I got escorted out. I was ready to go anyway, so no harm no foul.UNI88 wrote:The only problem with that description is that this "soft Midwesterner" actually spent 3 summers in Philly while he was in college so he's quite familiar with Philly and it's fans. Wait... Weren't the Chiefs absolutely getting rid of Alex Smith
I mean it was printed in the pre-season that this was Alex Smiths last season in KC
And the Redskins give up a 3rd round pick and Kendall Fuller...
Sweet bald headed baby Jeezus mother puss bucket has Snyder completely lost his faculties..?
Patrick Mahomes was going to be 2018 starter in KC
KC had to get rid of Alex Smith after this season (everybody knew that)
The Redskins had the leverage...

With KC, yes. But how many other teams were interested? Maybe they had to outbid other teams or did it to get the deal overwith before more teams jumped in.Chizzang wrote:Wait... Weren't the Chiefs absolutely getting rid of Alex Smith

The Chiefs offense is loaded going into the 2018 season...
Tyreek Hill snazzy young Wide out H back / who happens to be the fastest man in the NFL
Kareem Hunt AFC Rushing leader
Travis Kelce / PFF NFL 4th Ranked Tight End
Pat Mahomes at QB
and a bevvy of quality Wide Outs with an above average offensive line
Only Andy Reid could f*ck this up...
