Coffee could get a cancer warning...in California...
The coffee case has been brewing since 2010, when Southern California-based nonprofit Council for Education and Research on Toxics, backed by attorney Raphael Metzger, sued dozens of coffee sellers and manufacturers. The coffee defendants, including Starbucks and Keurig Green Mountain, argue the trace amounts of acrylamide in coffee are harmless and outweighed by the health benefits of the drink.

This might deserve it’s own thread...but I’ll place it here for now...

Well Franken and Feinstein didn't like him, so odds are he will do a good job.

Hen, there's a new brewery opening a few blocks from my house this weekend. They are two homebrewers going big.

Have you brewed anything lately?

Funny you mention it, I was thinking about starting a batch tomorrow if I get up early enough to go buy the goods. Not sure what to brew. I bought an anniversary mixed six from a Baltimore brewer and they had a Sahti style beer in the six. I assumed it was India or Far East, but turns out it's from Finland. It was very interesting, but may be too hard to do. It uses juniper which is a huge favorite of mine. :thumb:

Sounds good. Let us know if you brew.

I think i've had a Sahti style beer.

I had a Poretti in Italy that was an IPA - and it had some floral notes to it. It was pretty good.

A buddy of mine makes a Sahti beer every year around Christmas. Takes a bit to make, but it is very good. Fresh juniper is a must.

CAIR vs Republicans in Minnesota.

CAIR Link

(MINNEAPOLIS, MN, 2/5/18) – On Tuesday, February 6, the Minnesota chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-MN) will monitor Muslim voters’ access to Republican Party caucuses in that state.

CAIR-MN had previously called on the Minnesota Republican Party to dismiss an official who claimed that he uncovered a plot to “mobilize Muslims to infiltrate our Republican caucuses on Feb. 6.”
