Always though Adam Jones was underrated.

First the Tigers win, then replay official says they don't. And they didnt in extra innings.AshevilleApp wrote:Gardenhire thrown out of his first regular season with the Tigers!

I was watching that. I was screaming at the announcers because they were saying that the replays they had did not prove enough to overturn the call on the field. But the replay officials have more views than one broadcast team, and the fact they didn't acknowledge that makes them sound unprepared.Gil Dobie wrote:First the Tigers win, then replay official says they don't. IMO, Harold Reynolds and Dan Plesac (MLB Network) are the best (combo of knowledge and entertainment) studio guys in all of sports. They are outstanding. Worth the watch if you catch them in the studio doing live look-ins of games.

I would add Eric Byrnes to that list, him wiping out Reynolds at 3rd was epic.

I think he is too goofy and tries too hard to be entertaining. I'm a fan of Sean Casey, but he too is on the goofy side.css75 wrote:CAA Flagship wrote:IMO, Harold Reynolds and Dan Plesac (MLB Network) are the best (combo of knowledge and entertainment) studio guys in all of sports. Detroit traded literally every player with a pulse on their roster at the deadline last year with the exception of Miggy. I don’t think there’s an “looking” to be rebuilding....Gil Dobie wrote:Detroit looks to be rebuilding, might be a long season. Minnesota is still young and good, except Santana's surgery will keep him out until May.

Gabe Kapler will be serenaded in classic Philly fashion at the Phillies’ home opener. He coughed up that first game against Atlanta all by himself, and the team got reamed last night. No pitching (beyond Nola). Looks like the Vince Velasquez experiment may be ending.

He'll be booed every time he comes out for a pitching change. So basically he gets booed 4-5 times every night, minimum. He might start sending out someone else to do the pitching change.Ivytalk wrote:Gabe Kapler will be serenaded in classic Philly fashion at the Phillies’ home opener. As long as the Mets end with a record worse than the Braves, I'll be happy. That last game against the Phillies was just embarrassing.89Hen wrote:Nats might.AZGrizFan wrote:Welp. I guess the Diamondbacks aren’t going 162-0. FML

Great article on the Twins/Orioles nonsense over the weekend and the sheer stupidity of the "unwritten rules" of baseball. Golf is another sport that gets in its own way with these sometimes just ridiculous "rules" and the weird adherence to them. I love baseball and I'm a lifelong fan, but the petulance of some of these supposed grown-ups doesn't always paint a good picture of baseball players.

Wow, that is COMPLETE BULLSHIT. If they're so pissed about a guy bunting with the game virtually over (in their estimation), why the FUCK did the Twins put on a shift?!?!?!?!?!GannonFan wrote:Great article on the Twins/Orioles nonsense over the weekend and the sheer stupidity of the "unwritten rules" of baseball. Quickly moving up the list of most hated fans in sports. Before they were a fanbase with nothing to love or hate. Now I'm rooting for the Avs and Blues to overtake the Wild.Gil Dobie wrote:Just the Minnesota fans whining about something again.

But in this instance, the Twins are at fault for shifting their defense while up 7-0 in the ninth inning.
Disclaimer: I hate the shift and statistics prove that it does not provide any benefit. But that is not the point. Statistically, Cisco recorded a hit to the opposite side of the field and that could help prevent shifting on him in the future.

It wasn't a party foul if there wasn't a no-hitter going.

Nah, laying down a bunt with a no-no, especially if it's not a 0-0 tie, is some fucked up shit.89Hen wrote:Not a party foul if there was. It's your job to spoil it.93henfan wrote:It wasn't a party foul if there wasn't a no-hitter going.
