I considered starting the word with a “p” so as in psycho and I’m quite proud that I didn’t and got it close to correct.

Now, go have another Bloody Marie (or is it “Mary?) and take your 4th poop of the morning.
That epistle was the klam equivalent of JSO giving us a 5000 word essay (with graphs) as to why he spelled sycophant like a 1975 4th grader

(2018 4th graders aren't tasked with that)

It’s not as if Comey was some inexperienced flacky plucked out of a whorehouse to fill a position a la Carson or DeVos. By many accounts he’s actually one those altruistic career bureaucrats and respected. If anything, Trump made a good move by initially lying with HIM, you insufferable twat.
Altruistic, my ass. Comey is the most self-absorbed law enforcement official of this generation: always concerned about his self-image and playing both ends against the middle. Snuffleupagus just sucked him off in that travesty of an interview.

"Playing both ends against the middle"? What does that even mean? :suspicious: Is it a fancy way of you sucking off Ganny and UNI88 or something? :kisswink:

Once upon a time, there was a school of thought that said if someone was pissing off both sides they were probably in the sweet spot. Comey has a history of that and like it or not he is believable (even if he is full of shit). The one questionable part is whether this hurts the Mueller investigation.

I suppose if Director Ivytalk was thrown under the bus, he'd just tuck his tail and take the beating? :ohno: :ohno:

It is interesting to wonder
For those who think Comey is grandstanding
what was he supposed to do after being fired..?
Quietly accept his disgrace from Lord Trump

Anybody who's had to deal directly with Trump for more than an hour basically comes away hating him

I agree, Flaggy. Between the book, his interviews, his testimonies, his tweets, etc., he is digging himself a deeper hole. He is playing this like an amateur would.

The duty bound public servant wouldn't have written it - even after retirement - frankly I'm disappointed in him... and the funny thing is that it would probably bug someone like him to know that. Therefore, book

I know I wouldn't have - no matter who it was about (and know some vile stories about some otherwise revered people)

the only opinions of me that I care about are those of my wife and kids and dog (and Im fairly sure one of those is guaranteed)

I had maintained a higher opinion of Comey before he started with the sanctimonious tweeting and book pushing... but that isn't the paradigm any more - now everybody cashes in on their DC inside stories

Trump inspires hatred...
his pettiness and continual neurotic self aggrandizement is beyond ridiculous

You say:
A duty bound public servant wouldn't have written it
But I contend any human pushed to the limit will eventually defend themselves and strike back

Had Trump shown him even a modicum of respect - just a tincture in an eye dropper of respect
But he can't it's not in the Presidents nature and so he's getting exactly what he has dished out

which is
bile and slander

That’s all fine and good - but part of being a public servant means you put up with some pretty vile people.. by design and expectation.

Folks do it every day - not necessarily at Comey’s level, but he isn’t the first person to be slimed by a boss like Trump.

At the end of the day executive branch employees serve at the pleasure of the President - there are no caveats for “if he isn’t a prick” - and I know Comey isn’t an employee any more - but there’s still a level of decorum people in sensitive positions should maintain even after they leave

If I were Comey, I wouldn’t be too worried about whether people believe what Trump says - in fact, I know he doesn’t - because Trump is a well known quantity - that’s why I think Comey is doing this for some self aggrandizement of his own. He isn’t moving the needle on public opinion of Trump or his own reputation one iota

Honestly, sometimes I wish there were more tell-all books coming out of high places in the federal government. It might clean up shitty behavior there.

THe thing is, though, Trump is probably the last person we really needed an "inside" look at. He doesn't have separate private and public persona like the Clintons do.

This nails it.
demographic that has become prominent in the world of the media, the academy, think tanks, and consultants: experts without expertise. Its members expound on gun culture without knowing anyone who actually owns one; opine on evangelical America without knowing any evangelicals; assess the impact of free trade without having met anyone whose job has moved to Mexico. And their lack of expertise has become all the more glaring in the age of Trump.

Without the July presser, there would have been no October surprise. One begat the other, but for some reason only one group complains about the second one, and only one group complains about the first.

As for McCabe, his activities immediately after his firing (including his woe is me victim epistle in the WaPo) makes no sense, given that he had to know that the OIG report was going to come out within a couple weeks.

PLUS, he lied in ways that makes Comey the material witness... and Comey is hawking a book that, among other things, discusses all kinds of matters which are still under investigation. Which is another reason why he maybe should have waited (and he knows it)... unless one's motivation is money, and interest in Comey's story has a very short half life

The anti Trumpanzees are becoming background noise. Most regular people are going about their daily lives, not paying much attention. Every once in a while a good joke pops up on either side of the aisle. America is back to being America, outside of the political hacks, and wannabe hacks.
