I’m sure that brother Baldy didn’t sit down the whole game. He tends to pace... 8-)

I wonder what Lehigh TU Owl thinks about us being 3-1 and just having beaten the preseason conference favorites? He basically spilled a lot of ink on the AGS Other Sports Forum trying to convince people that our problem was structural and not cultural.

On another note, I had a conversation a few weeks ago with a guy who is an OC at one of the better high school football programs in the state who told me our previous staff was the most disorganized bunch of colleges coaches he had ever seen at any level. I still can't wrap my brain around that hire. :dunce:

I am still being proven right when I told the Sun Belt board that App and GS would be at the top of the league yearly when they joined - all the Louisiana/Alabama/Arkansas guys laughed at that.

You do know Georgia Southern was 2-6 in the Sun Belt last year, right?

Yes, they have had some growing pains, but have righted the ship.

Neither APP or GS will ever be down for long - they may have some off years, but won't be regulars in the basement (looking at you, Texas State)

I didn't and I'm in Louisiana. I fully expected that.

It's mostly those people in Lafayette that are saying that. Reading their board they think they should be better than the FCS call-ups because they're FBS lifers. Their school was apparently the most vocal about concerns over it being an FCS move-up league. The administrator of their board even spun their loss to Coastal Carolina by saying they had big recruiting advantages in being a team in the process of moving up. LoL.

We're getting there. One week at a time.

Interesting fact:
Chad Lunsford has already won more games as a head coach at Georgia Southern than Tyson Summers did.

Did you see what Paul Johnson did to Brian Van Gorder last night?

I didn't see it because I'm in Seattle right now. What PJ did would be a felony in about 37 states tho.

Well, Baldy, the Eags held on to beat Texas State last night. Looks like the offense was out of synch, but a W is a W.

It was painfully ugly. A Thursday night road game on a short week. I'll take the win, especially considering nobody in a million years thought we would be 5-1 at this point in the season.

Well, Billy Napier returns to App State this Saturday for the first time since he threw that pick that allowed App State to get a defensive two-point conversion and re-take the lead right at the end of the game.

First Sun Belt team to reach Bowl Eligibility!

Chad Lunsford has more wins after 7 games than Tyson Summers had after 18.

Also, Sun Belt game of the year coming up on Thursday when we host App State.
