QF - (7) Maine @ (2) Weber

Post by Mvemjsunpx »

Interesting that ESPN chose the most defensive games to be the TV ones. Anyway… neither offense is likely to have much success in this one, so the game should come down other factors. Weber is +11 in turnover margin and has vastly superior punting, so I like them to get it done at home.

Here's my assessment of the matchups & my pick for the game:

      • Quarterbacks -- (push)

        Running Backs - Weber St.

        Receivers/TEs - Maine

        Offensive Line - Maine

        Defensive Line - Weber St.

        Linebackers --- Maine

        Secondary ---- Weber St.

        Kicking ------ Weber St.

        Punting ------ Weber St.

        Return Teams - Weber St.

        Kickoffs ------ Weber St.

        • Maine 13-20 Weber St.

Score looks about right. Its gonna be a defensive slugfest. Turnovers will be the deciding factor i think. If Weber can force a few Maine turnovers like they did SEMO they can take this game. But Maine is coming in amped up and if Weber comes out flat watch out for the Black Bears. A nice large loud crowd would really help tomorrow, but a 6pm start in the frigid cold and with the game being on tv i doubt Stewart Stadium gets very full.

A Rashid Shaheed return for a touchdown always helps too.

Well work has been really miserable today, I haven't been able to get anything done.

Hope I don't jinx it, but the replay crew has been dead tits-on all night so far.

Wish they had competent crews like this back in 2010.

Frisco: 4th and 1 for EWU, down 6, with ~3 min left. RB clearly down a half yard short. Would have likely been ballgame. But that's history. I was more angry that I was one car length from getting out of the parking lot and had a guy in an overcoat and an earpiece (Secret Service) step in front of my car and hold me up for 45 minutes while Joe Biden jerked off on the way to his motorcade. It was OK though. My dad and I fired up our defeat cigars and put a nice sheen of smoke smell all over my rental.
