Because Jeff Jacoby is about as unresearched and uniformed as anybody could be to write this article
Example:
I can write an article on how The Affordable Care act is the best thing possible for America
and use anecdotal statistics to paint a beautiful picture

:coffee:
So speeds didn't increase by 40% and the US didn't improve from 12th to 7th fastest? :?

Baldy,
Do we really want to do this..?
It's about a 5 page answer to respond to that completely bought and paid for article by Comcast
that you're so proud of...

Firstly Comcast can legally increase or decrease anybody's service they see fit
So how could somebody test rightfully say what speeds they actually provide..?

Comcast controls speeds minute by minute
and if you inform them of a test they will increase the speeds
They are the gate keeper

When Net Neutrality passed in 2015
The following year Comcast and TW began fiber projects
projects specifically designed to address performance
Some of those projects are being completed now

It has NOTHING to do with Comcast being a gracious host of our Broadband infrastructure
and gleefully providing better service

Believe me... Comcasts consumer ratings will continue to stay at the very bottom
where they've been for almost 20 years

Here's a test

Jeezus Christ you trigger so easily.

I simply posted an opinion piece with linked source information. I didn't write it. I didn't post it to troll, but my God you swallowed it whole.

There were so-called respected pundits, journalists, "leaders" who actually said people would die because net neutrality was repealed. There were countless others who actually said and predicted that repealing net neutrality would be the end of the internet as we know it. I didn't think you were that far off the deep end bat shit crazy, but now I'm not so sure.

The point is, net neutrality ended a year ago and guess what...nothing has changed. Deal with it.

I'm not aware of anybody predicting death and mayhem
but what was most commonly predicted has come true

But you'd never know because "It hasn't happened to you" personally so it hasn't happened
and a Republican hasn't complained yet to any of your sources (because they're on the Comcast dole)

but throttling happens every day
and I'm not going to explain it to you
Just remember: Comcast has your best interest at heart

It's not just throttling. I have Comcast for internet because I don't have any other viable high speed alternatives. I pay $90/month for 150gb download with a 1 terrabyte max per month. If I lived 5-10 miles north in Wisconsin I could get 200gb download and I don't think there's a max for $45/month. The $45 difference isn't all because of regulatory fees, a big chunk of it is price gouging by a monopoly.

Comcast and TW paid good money to our Representatives to allow them to become monopolies
and then paid more money to have legislation written to protect those monopolies basically "forever"
and then to make it impossible to litigate against them (That's my favorite)

Comcast can write a contract (a legal binding document) that you must sign
Then they can break it at will and not be held accountable
however if you break it they can sue you or destroy your credit

True story
Imagine if Google or other "Lefty" Corps
could write contracts and legally disregard them with no consequences ..?

Who else has such legal immunity in this country..?

So I have Comcast in Portland with the exact same plan that I had in Illinois and what does it cost?
Spoiler: show
$35/month
Why the difference? Is there more bandwidth in the Pacific NW? Is data cheaper here? Or is it because I have alternatives and they need to keep the price lower to compete? Were they using their essential monopoly in my neighborhood in Illinois to price-gouge?

It's entirely based on Oregon legislation that allows for regional ISP competition...
Unlike the vast majority of states - that have been bribed into legislating monopolies
