Eh, the first round, with the top 8 teams getting byes, tends to be kinda drab. Things don't get started until at least the top 16, and in some cases those games are duds too and it's not until the final 8 that you see great games.

I don't necessarily mean 24. The byes are a bit cumbersome. Sixteen would be fine. My main point is that there should be auto-bids for all conferences that choose to participate (allowing for the possibility of some pulling an Ivy stunt) and some at-larges. To me, it's not a real playoff if you define people out. And the argument that "the little boys can't beat a P5" is a red herring, because there's the perpetual example of Boise, and there's always the possibility of an App-Michigan upset. That's the fun of a playoff; it's boring if you define that out.
SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.
