Basically, New Prime was arguing that they get to decide what the exceptions to the FAA with a mandatory arbitration clause and a court can't do anything about that. The only way you could be surprised that Gorsuch and Alito and the right-wing of the court don't agree with that is if you're a person that sees "the other side" as evil.

We already have that. Concierge doctors, private clinics. Need an abortion for your mistress? Check. Don't want to wait with the sick people? House calls. The wealthy will always have better health care, that is not the issue. It is getting decent healthcare for EVERYONE that is the issue.

I agree, there will always be two health care systems - one for everyone, and then the one for the wealthy. That's how it works pretty much everywhere where there is a nationalized health care system (the NHS in the UK is a perfect example). I think we should do that TODAY - there's no need to wait at this point. We'll have arguments forever about what constitutes "decent" healthcare - i.e. how long a wait time for surgery - assuming that surgery is even approved, what medicines get covered, etc. - but there's no reason why we shouldn't just do that now. The private health care system - with the better doctors, better equipment, no wait times, full range of any and all medicines - will always exist and where people with the means to access it will always go for health care. Stop debating the minutia now and let's get to the debate we'll have long after we're all dead and gone and that would be the debate over the wealthy getting the best health care and the non-wealthy getting whatever we can scrap together to be "decent".

But I see friends in several countries with state run healthcare who are way ahead of me in terms of their income bracket and yet the headaches associated with their medical care are reminiscent of the people I see waiting in emergency rooms for basic care in the US

A large chunk of people in the US who consider their healthcare “adequate” will drop off into this area of inferior service - most of the middle class

And given our government track record, I guarantee 100% that it will be fvcked up so bad that the UK’s system will STILL look better

I don't doubt that, and you can argue that the NHS in the UK has gotten worse as time has moved on (in terms of what they cover, when they cover it, and the waiting times for it). I was reading a good book on neurosurgery last year by a UK surgeon and while he worked in the system he would never use the system himself when time came for him to be a patient. The arguments of the near future (and for quite a long time) will most certainly be over why is our national heath care system so messed up and how much do you need to make to be able to access the far more capable private market.

I'm seeing some coverage of the 2019 (and third) Women's March from various cities on the news networks today. Their attendance is WAY down.

I heard yesterday that there is a feud between black Muslins and white Joos within the movement and it sort of killed it. I assume all the uberlib white women sided with the Muslins and stayed home.

The thing is, it was to be in Humbolt Country and Humbolt County was, as of July 1, 2018, 83.5% White.
