The NHL playoffs carried NBC to a primetime ratings win Saturday night.

The network’s broadcast of the game between the Columbus Blue Jackets and the Boston Bruins led the night by a considerable margin, with a 0.8 average rating in adults 18-49 and a 2.60 million viewer average.

But, overall, Sports Business Daily found a decline in viewers for the NBA. Including ABC, ESPN, TNT, and NBA TV, the NBA saw 1.2 million average viewers, down five percent from last season.

The playoffs also saw a dip in viewers, off 18 percent, SBD noted.

Gosh, it beat reruns of American Idol (apparently still on TV) and reruns of MasterChef Junior. Are they popping the champagne bottles at league headquarters yet? Possibly not.

Overall, the league’s ratings were relatively flat for the 2018-19 regular season, down 1% from last season. Twelve teams saw ratings increases, while ten were down from ‘17-‘18.

If you count checking the scores the day after to see how poorly you're doing on this thread, then I guess?

Wow, even your math skills have left you. If you have MORE viewers, than it takes losing a LOT more to move percentages. This truly is your 6.93 moment.

Well, you did trumpet the tv performance of a sports event on a Saturday night when it ran opposite absolutely nothing - most major sports leagues avoid Saturday night when possible. The NFL is the exception, as the NFL can do whatever they want to do. If I'm at a low point, apparently you're keeping me company.

:suspicious: Fan? I didn't realize the NBA standards for a "fan" were so low. But I guess when you're losing 5-18% viewership you can't be picky.

Come on, we know you were right there taking sides on whether Harden is a flopper or not. I bet you even bought a jersey. Portland and Denver again tonight, second game. Although truth be told, that game is more of an acquired taste and is certainly the lesser card of any of the current matchups. It may appeal to you though since you like obscure sports like hockey.
