I think the lines about Democrats and "wealth envy" are used too much, but this one is blatant.

and frankly K-12 education should be privatized - that would solve the money problem pretty quickly
it would leave the poor and non English speaking behind but it would solve the money problem

Mayor Pete goes on Fox News Town Hall.....

“If we ignore the viewers of Fox News and every news platform that doesn’t share our worldview, we will surrender our ability to speak directly to millions of American voters,” Buttigieg asserted. “If we don’t show up, the conservative media will tell our side of the story for us.”

There are ways to get teachers paid and privatization of education is one of them
State run Socialism Education is not...
Bernie needs to pick one and go with it
but arguing about market driven pay scales and socialism pay scales is retarded
if you want market driven pay scales for teachers then privatize K-12
and I promise you teachers will GET PAID
They'll also:
Get Fired
be forced to compete
have to work 12 months a year

I got no issue with Socialism - we're practically 75% of they way there already
But when you argue about market driven wages vs. socialized wages you show that you're not very bright
There is no confusion about how people "get paid" among Economists and students of markets
Even barbaric troglodytes like alphagriz get the concept - want more money - take more risks
Socialism is inherently low risk low reward personal security based low productivity over employment

He has to.BDKJMU wrote:Sanders going after the black vote in SC:
The SC A-A vote is VERY establishment. They go for the traditional, retail Democrats.
TBH, I am beginning to think it doesn’t matter. I thought there would be a Biden bump but this is pretty sustained now. Biden is still blowing Bernie out of the water. Harris has dropped behind Buttigieg, so the top 3 Dem candidates atm are white males, with Biden WAY out front. And, he isn’t even being all that apologetic about his past (though hes been pandering on Anita Hill).
This is going to be enjoyable watching the SJWs and other assorted nuts seethe. And the Biden-Trump debates are going to be EPIC
I think 3/4ths of the field will drop out halfway through the primaries - but Kamala will stay in and there will be (quite coincidental ) chemistry between them. And then she’ll be his running mate.

In between semesters, college professors aren't just siting on their hands. When my father in law was teaching college, he'd was working 12 months, that included running multiple summer camps, writing or editing cookbooks, developing curriculum, conducting professional certification and continuing education courses, planning for the upcoming semesters.
It's different than adjunct professors like my wife who might teach of 3 semesters straight then not have a class for 1-2 semesters.

And most K-12 teachers I know are either going through continuing Ed during summers, teaching summer school, moonlighting the wheat harvest, working at golf courses, volunteering as coaches, etc.Ibanez wrote:I can see that.AZGrizFan wrote:Lol. Those who can, teach. Those who can’t often have no clue regarding the profession and are simply bitching about those massive teacher’s salaries.

Exactly. He wasn't working 12 months AT the college.
Those summer camps, CE courses, editing were all done through the college. At the college. On location. He was paid by the school.
Trust me, AZ. I know more about my experience than you. You asked for an example and I supplied one. He wasn’t alone either so you can count that as 10 more cases. Just at one school.
My sister used to teach nursing. Even during the summer, she would teach summer classes and work as a liaison between the school and local hospitals year round. Nursing students will go to work in the hospitals as part of the curriculum.
I’ll wait for you to tell me what I witnessed for 9 years was a fabrication.
