They still rely on a lot of good old manual mechanical weapons. For example, an EMP weapon would have no effect on the thousands of artillery tubes they have pointed at South Korea
And there’s no DOUBT they would/could do it, leaving no place to land.

I remember after active duty while I was in the Reserves I was attached to a South Korean unit in Chinhae. The theory was we could get equipped up, trained up and shipped out in 2 weeks should the bubble go up along the DMZ. Problem was, NK’s plan was to overrun the entire peninsula in ONE week.
