These people are in detention facilities b/c they illegally entered. I don't like the conditions as much as you and I sure as shit don't approve of separating children from families. Unless I missed it, I didn't see live video from AOCs and the other Dems visits that prove everything they say. I'm just supposed to take their word for it? For the record, the Republicans would have to have a live stream as well for me to believe.

I guarantee you that no one on this board has more direct experience in being on the receiving end of government bureaucracy and soul crushing government monopolies.

Hey...I'm all for government keeping their hands off of bug business.

Referring to things like price controls and monetary policy is one way to describe it. In the vein of this discussion I would be referring to it more from a political/labeling stand point. EG: socialized medicine.

Regarding taxes...similar to healthcare, no two systems are the same so direct comparisons are challenging. Bottom line is that governments find out a way to get their dollars. Unless it's changed much in the past few years, the US ranked in the mid to high 30's in effective corporate tax rate.

Circling back to healthcare, even if there is a disparity in co-pays or deductibles, the overall measurement of producing similar outcomes and spending way less is still there.

I'm not sold on any system. I just know that ours is fucked up beyond belief for way too many people while others are making an absolute fortune off of it. That isn't very efficient.
