No, he's QB for the Broncos now.

Some people just don't know when to retire. I see A lot of states have mandatory retirement ages for judges at 70+. Should at least have 80 for the Fed. Is that another "Amend the Constitution or Shut the Fuck Up?"

How many people maintain the same keen intellect and energy level in their 80s (if they live that long) that they had in their 50s/60s/70s?

At 86 yrs/4 months old she's already the 4th oldest ever. Another 4 1/2 years she can surpass Taney (87 yrs/8 months), Stevens (90 yrs/2 months, and Holmes, (90 yrs/10 months).
The below link is from earlier last year when she was 6th oldest:
https://www.oldest.org/politics/supreme ... tices-usa/

Ginsburg over a year ago:
“I’m now 85,” she told Nina Totenberg at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival, “My senior colleague, Justice John Paul Stevens, he stepped down when he was 90, so I think I have about at least five more years.”
https://www.cheatsheet.com/culture/thes ... erve.html/
My prediction she won't make it that far. She'll croak 1st.

I would like her to enjoy a nice retirement with family in what time she has left. Don't you think she's earned it? :D

She should retire, but I am sure she is being pressured to stay. I actually wish her the best, she is in a no win situation.

I respect her for standing up for Kavanaugh and Gorsuch, and being against enlarging the court.

RBG had a bile duct stint implanted and that is supposedly an end of life measure.

Don’t hate on her because of cancer...I don’t wish that on anybody having watched my saintly mother-in-law waste away from the horrible disease...

I just deplore her politics, and want her gone so a constitution-loving person can replace her...

But what about the McConnell rule about election years? :kisswink:

And I'm with you. We're one SCOTUS appointment from maybe making machine guns legal again (WOOT!), but the hypocacy on McConnell's part would be hilarious should RGB kick in say January.

I am curious as to how the Dems will act if Trump does get another pick this term.

Could they behave any worse than they did with Kavanaugh?

Time will tell...Trump wins reelection, the GOP holds the Senate...

Plus, it’s not election year yet...close, but not yet...

I've already heard that his new defense is that when the same party controls the Exec and Senate, then his rule doesn't apply. He pulled that one right out of his ass in the past few weeks.

Gotta love these old fucks that people keep sending to Washington. They truly have no soul.

Just as a reminder...the only reason he can get away with his plan is because his predecessor Boxing Harry Reid killed the filibuster for Judges...which gave Cocaine Mitch the opening to kill the filibuster for SCOTUS...

At some point, a politician has to have some morals to start righting the ship and pluck us out of the swirling toilet bowl we're in.

Apparently McConnell and this GOP are not the ones to break the cycle.

McConnell will go for a replacement.

Difference is Obama was a lame duck Dem President facing a GOP Senate, Trump is not a lame duck GOP President with a GOP Senate. Like Obama said “Elections have consequences.”

So it's a you-first, then-me deal?

I'm just saying that at some point, somebody has to step up to the plate and be the better person.

I was thinking the Party of Lincoln™ might be the one to break the cycle, but apparently not.

No, I've only been following politics since 9/11, but know a you-first, then-me deal will only make it as far as you-first.

I don't agree with RBGs politics but I like and respect her. The Court needs differing opinions and IMO she has integrity and is good for the Court.
