Yang is a new kind of progressive -

God Klobuchar is so goofy and awkward I feel sorry for her in the way I feel sorry for the little girl who forgot her piece at a piano recital

She’s the least furthest to the left of any of them though. And she’s not willing to “evolve” the way Biden is

If I could pick the one among those in the Democratic Party primaries race that I would find most acceptable as President she would be it.
Well, I believe that I must tell the truth

But if I told the truth and nothing but the truth
Could I ever be a star?

Define “egregious”.

He supports (and has a very detailed plan for) a universal basic income of $1,000/month for every adult over the age of 18.

Sorry but that’s a deal killer for me.

Worse than Medicare for all?

Yang makes a very libertarian pitch for UBI. It has some predictable disadvantages but overall Yang articulates it convincingly

You should check out his policy positions - his biggest liabilities are over things that can’t happen... like Medicare for all-

On trade policy he came right out and said he wouldn’t immediately drop the tariff on China

On foreign policy he’s noninterventionist

TBH, I think Yang is too smart for the electorate he’s trying to woo

If I were a Republican she'd be the one I'd consider a dangerous sleeper. The awkward-as-a-bear cub facade conceals a work horse and don't forget her smackdown of Kavanaugh - she had that sissy bitch sniveling on national TV.

Why does it have to be one or the other? BOTH those ideas suck balls and are deal killers. And I HAVE checked out his policy positions...he's articulate, smart, and you're probably right: too bright for the donk sheeple he's trying to woo...but he's got a couple of waaaaay left things that make the little hairs on the back of my neck stand up....no can do.

UBI deserves a look because of the automation factor in job loss.

Or we could wait until they start cooking the rich over a bed of burning bankers... :luv:

We all know most of what candidates say won’t happen.

We still have Obamacare.
Mexico isn’t paying for a wall

It’s all pandering and BS.

I agree, but someone has to explain to me how UBI doesn't develop the same problems that minimum wage increases and student aid bumps have - how does it work so that inflation doesn't just take into account what the UBI is adjust so that ultimately, a person's buying power before and after the UBI isn't the same, especially if it was really low to start with?

Besides...Trump's tax cut basically let anyone who's working already keep more of their income, so they got their UBI back from the government. 8-) 8-) 8-)

The UBI concept is a hammer looking for a nail.

Universal healthcare used to be a thing that “couldn’t happen”. Medicare for all used to be a thing that “couldn’t happen”. The list goes on and on. Those things have a way of worming their way into the mainstream and that’s how we’ve gotten where we are.

I don’t understand the so-called libertarian intelligentsia’s infatuation with Yang. He’s just a straight Buttigieg and almost as statist. Yang throws a few crumbs to the “makers” but that’s about it.
