I agree it's too much but should Zeke really get paid like he's just a running back? Isn't he (and Saquon) worth slot receiver money?

Watched the end of the Cardinals game and that Murray kid looked terrific in the 4th quarter (struggled before that). Gardner Minschew also looked great once Foles went down.

The Air Raid is interesting.

No one is saying that Elliott or Saquon aren't great backs, and quite likely they are the second and first best running backs respectively in the NFL right now. But like all things NFL and money and salary cap, it's all what the replacement cost is for a slightly not as good RB. Look at the Chargers, they are letting Melvin Gordon sit out and this Ekeler kid, a DII college guy from nowhere making the league minimum, looks like a perfect replacement. The reason the Steelers never budged on LeVeon Bell is that James Conner, a 3rd round pick on a rookie deal still I think, was a close enough replacement. When there's not a lot of money cap-wise to spend you have to be careful where you pay more than you have to. The Cowboys and Giants can pay top dollar for those running backs, but eventually that means you can't get top dollar at another position where potentially the dropoff between the starter and the replacement is much greater than it is at RB. It's a choice.

I had forgotten where Minschew came from - I saw some of his games at Wash St last year, he was actually a really good college QB that was overlooked (he is also just 6'1" so height always scares some people in the NFL). The overlooking of players coming out of the PAC 12 is real. He'll be an interesting kid to watch as Foles is likely out for a long time, if not the season.

Murray is going to be an interesting case too. As long as his offense stays healthy he has some decent weapons for a Cards team that had injury issues last year.

I agree with that but do you really just value them as running backs from a replacement perspective? Melvin Gordon is a running back and his production can be replaced. Zeke, Saquon and a few others do more and mean more to their teams. I wonder if their versatility in addition to their ability makes them more valuable than the running back metrics would indicate.

The real game is tonight. The greatest rivalry in the game Oakland hosts Denver. Also, just an FYI the AFC West is the toughest division all time as it is the only division with all 4 teams having a record over .500.

Holy shit. What a finish to the first MNF game. Texans down 27-21 to Saints. Get ball back at own 25 with 50 secs and no timeouts. Watson throws passes of 38 and 37 yards to tie the game in only 13 seconds. Then the kicker MISSES the extra point.

But wait... roughing the kicker called!

Second XP try good. 28-27 Texans.

Saints drive enough to attempt a 58 yarder.

And it's good.

What a game.

Yeah, was hoping the Texans could've pulled it out, a Saints loss just helps the Eagles. And I feel for Deshaun Watson - no way he makes it healthy through a whole season getting hit the way he gets hit. Nobody on that Houston OL should take a paycheck from this past game, there's no evidence they were there.

Both the Falcons and the Eagles have a serious Safety position problem
other than that they looked solid

it takes about 4 games to figure out how good a team is...

Big Ben getting surgery on the elbow, he's done for the year, as are the Steelers. Maybe they're late entrants in the race to draft Tua. Steelers haven't finished with less than 8 wins since the season before Ben got there. Looks like they'll struggle to get to the 6-10 record they had in that year.

Steelers have no shot at Tua, Miami is already on the clock.

I agree, but there are others who might even be better than Tua anyway. Herbert's a possibility, and guys like Frohm and Hurts aren't far behind.

If Murray does respectable this season, and Hurts continues his progression, I can see him #1.

Right now looking to be a loaded QB class.

Anyone who drafts Hurts #1 is an idiot. Like the Cardinals for taking Murray #1. Neither will be elite NFL QB's, IMO.

I wouldn't take him either, just saying there's more than Tua. Remember, Tua plays behind one of the best OL's in college football, if not the best, and throws to the best WR corps in college football (maybe Clemson is). Tua's not going to have that in Miami next year. Could be a real culture shock for him to not be surrounded by the best recruits in the game.

I'm not sure there's anybody else on the entire roster has any trade value..?
Josh Rosen had trade value until their idiot coach told the world that Ryan Fitzpatrick beat him out

quite literally there's nobody after Minkah with any value
But be aware... Minkah has good value - they'll get some takers
