SHSU 23-27 UND
UND is evolving into a solid, physical football team. Looking forward to their Big Sky match-up with EWU next week.

Think you could have given most surprising to the Griz. After UO smoked Nevada 77-6 last week it looked primed for a huge score....Griz D was legit and stopped the Oregon O six times (that's 5 more times than FBS Nevada did)...

Nothing surprising about losing 35-3. Ducks offense was pretty vanilla most of the night. Ducks tried to go vanilla the week before against Nevada, but had to open up the playbook halfway through the second quarter when the score was 7-6. If the Ducks would have felt threatened at any time, the score would have been worse. The Ducks were in control of the game the whole time.

That was more-or-less my take, too. The Montana/Oregon game was pretty sleepy, and both teams were more conservative than I expected. The Griz acted like they were just trying to survive and never really looked like they were aggressively trying to scare the Ducks, while Oregon's offense seemed pretty disinterested after they went up 14-0. For example, they ran it about 80% of the time in the second quarter even though the Griz weren't getting anything resembling a pass rush at the time.

Most Surprising Result: Lafayette 40, Sacred Heart 56 - The Leopards break 40 points for the first time in 5 years and still lose.

Worst Performance: Richmond 20, (#25) Elon 42 - The Spiders have now lost 5 straight home conference games.

Most Surprising Result: (#7) Maine 23, (#8) Towson 45 - Perhaps more concerning than the 4 INTs is that Maine has only forced 1 turnover so far this season.

Big South

ALB 35-38 MONM (OT)
HAMP 41-20 HOW (in Chicago, IL)
NCCEN 12-21 GWEBB
NCAT 27-21 CHSO

Worst Performance: Presbyterian 20, Jacksonville 30 - The Blue Hose can't even beat Jacksonville with scholarships, so what hope do they have when they're PFL foes in 2021? :?

Most Surprising Result: Hampton 41, Howard 20 - Deondre Francis throws 4 TD passes on just 20 attempts in a penalty-ridden contest.

SoCon

Best Performance: The Citadel 27, (FBS) Georgia Tech 24 (OT) - The triple-option gods cast their favor on the Bulldog believers at the expense of those who abandoned their faith.

Worst Performance: East Tennessee St. 24, VMI 31 (OT) - The Bucs went 6-1 in one-score games last year (including a 27-24 win over VMI), but when you play with fire…

Most Surprising Result: VMI 31, East Tennessee St. 24 (OT) - The Keydets end a 22-game conference losing streak against one of last year's playoff teams.

Tomorrow: Non-Playoff Folks…

Yeah. I'm sure they intended to be stopped on downs three times. Or punt three times. They spent the entire game with their starters in trying to run up the score and couldn't. #TRUTHBOMB

Funny how when the rest of the teams would play the Ducks, all of us would try to claim little "victories" here and there, only to be reminded by Griz fans here that "a loss is still a loss". Well,....

Yes, 35-3. And 77-6 against a team with 23 more schollies. A team that stopped them exactly ONCE all game. UM? Six times. That's right beyotch. Count 'em. Hell, Oregon couldn't score with their 1's in against UM's 2's in the 4th quarter.

Ducks suck. :coffee:

Well, that much we do agree on. :D

I'm at the bar and they have 12 TV's showing the Duck game and I couldn't get one switched over to the PSU game. Sad. :suspicious:
