No. He would have no problem with "lean[ing] on China economically." He would just do it differently than a unilateral Trade War.
He even proposed a way to lean of China economically as part of his campaign in 2012.
I will create the ‘Reagan Economic Zone,’ a partnership among countries committed to free enterprise and free trade. It will serve as a powerful engine for opening markets to our goods and services, and also a mechanism for confronting nations like China that violate trade rules while free-riding on the international system. I will not stand by while China pursues an economic development policy that relies on the unfair treatment of U.S. companies and the theft of their intellectual property. I have no interest in starting a trade war with China, but I cannot accept our current trade surrender.

Like, "Obamacare"... Obama stole his idea for countering China.
You saddled your wagon to Trump's Trade War. Ok. That's great. No very libertarian of you... but, you're entitled to your opinion. But, don't act like it was ever the only option.
Still obsessed with me I see
Here comes your beating
It wasn’t the only option but it is too late for half measures like what Romney proposed. Plus, Romney’s plan doesn’t take into account China’s influence and leverage with industrialized nations outside of the EU. Only we have the juice right now to force China to play nice in monetary policy and protectionist trade.
Romney’s “Reagan Economic Zone” would have consisted of the US, India, Japan, South Korea, and Australia/New Zealand. None of which have cheap labor (except India). Each one is dependent on China servicing their debt, and none of them can sell a significant amount of consumer goods inside China.
Thanks for doing all the useless research on what Romney proposed back in 2012. In the alternate universe where Romney won in 2012 you’d be critical of this plan (because Romney) and you’d be correct like a broken clock.
