In Iowa you can buy whiskey or any other hard liquor at grocery stores, convenience stores, Walmart, Target, or stand alone liquor stores. Pretty much any person or company can get a liquor license.

I’ve never been to a Wal-Mart or grocery store in the US that sells whisky, gin, rum, brandy, etc... do they exist in the US?

Good idea. I wonder if the generators you and I could buy at Home Depot or Lowes are compliant with California's air quality standards. My guess is probably not.

And Generac stock is booming.

I can confirm that.

I always try to bring beer or a bottle of something local home with me on my trips and it is always nice when trying to find a liquor store doesn't wind up being an adventure in avoiding hookers and drug dealers......
