No, Jearf

Democrats are the winning hand for Trump.

All they had to do was not be batshit crazy

Instead, the nominee’s entire plank will consist of nuking everybody’s med insurance, taking guns (their words), and outlawing speech

Congratulations

I have to agree, policies rule the day, and the Dems are flat out crazy. A lot of us have no choice but Trump, who acts crazy, but his policies are not.

Not every Evangelical is a Trumper. I'm certainly not.

Of course, most of y'all know who I'm voting for. So much for what the Left is trying to term the GOP's "War on Women...."

I forgot about Sarah. I guess evangelicals approve of divorce.

Oh wait, they elected Trump. They approve of a lot of things they previously considered immoral.

He has to do that. It's transactional. He knows he has NO shot without something like 80% of White Evangelicals supporting him. In 2016 people who are NOT White Evangelicals, who were an estimated 74% of voters, voted for Clinton over Trump by an estimate 60% to 34%.

He does not really give a shit about Christianity. But he gives a shit about getting re-elected.

Way to try and make something out of nothing. It's already part of his base. Why would not try to get their votes?

You think any candidates on the Dem ticket appeal to Evangelicals?

I do think the Democrats hurt their chances per your suggestion. But they are in good position to win in spite of that. As I noted in another thread: Right now Elizabeth Warren, who comes off as stiff and shrill and who also has extreme left positions, leads Trump in the Real Clear Politics average of polls for the overall vote by 5.2 percentage points. And Bernie Sanders, an avowed Socialist, leads him in that average by 6.3 percentage points.

Trump is such an atrocity that they can nominate a batshit crazy candidate and still have a very good chance to win.

If you don't believe in that garbage - which by all accounts he doesn't - you don't just accept a bunch of weirdos touching you in a cult-like prayer. Trump doesn't even like being touched.

But from Trump's perspective, it helps him. So yeah, it's a phony photo-op not born of genuine desire to be assisted by prayer to serve the American people.

Yes I do. Trump is a simple, fairly stupid person. And he's an open book with a history of well-documented thoughts and actions. You don't need a psych degree to understand how he thinks or feels.

The mind-boggling part is how many people defend and over-explain the stupidity of his actions. He's not intelligent and he's only in it for him, but his confidence and brashness carry him. That's it.
