Most of the retired folks we know seem to be busier than ever: clubs, neighborhood groups, charitable work, grandkids, political activities. Mrs. Ivy and I have more “vacation time” than we did when we worked for a living, but we probably travel a bit less. It’s all good!

And I wanted to practice law — and was pretty happy about my work — until I decided I was ready to stop. Your post implies that you don’t like your work. If true, that’s a shame, but you’re still young enough to do something else.

It's not about having an open mind, it's about where I am and need to be, at least for now. With 89Jr closing in on his final semester of school, things may change next year, we'll see.
