QF - Austin Peay @ #5 Montana St.
Thanks to Austin Peay, the Bobcats were gifted an unexpected quarterfinal home game. Will that help them get closer to Frisco? I'm not so sure. The Governors are clicking on all cylinders right now (3 straight blowouts followed by the upset win in Sacramento), and nobody—aside from arguably Eastern Kentucky—has been able to run on them all year. That's a really good matchup against a run-heavy team like Montana State. Now, the Bobcat passing "attack" did come alive against Albany, but I don't think the Govs will really need to aggressively stack the box to take the running game away. I'm gonna go ahead and call the upset here…

I don’t think any AP win in the playoffs would really be an upset unless it was over JMU or NDSUMvemjsunpx wrote:Thanks to Austin Peay, the Bobcats were gifted an unexpected quarterfinal home game. Rushing numbers are interesting... Austin Peay opponents are averaging about 35 rushing attempts a game (may be because the teams need to pass to keep up) but the Cats are averaging almost 50 attempts a game. Cats don't blow out teams early in these past games they have won (other than the griz). Cats wear down teams with the run, and then break it open in the later 3rd and most of 4th quarters.. Cats have been down big twice this year (again, taking the FBS game out) they were down 21-0 VS NAU shortly in the 2nd quarter... NAU couldn't keep that momentum, and the Cats eventually wore them down and outscored them 28-0 in the 4th quarter. Sac State thumped the Cats in a HUGE run of games for them, and were riding high... This could have been the best thing to happen to the Cats, as it made them re-group and focus (then they lost 2 weeks later to UND...) I think that this game will be close at half with Cats up 3... But as always I think the Cats d will shut down Peay ( that's what she said).. in the second half, and travel combined with cold and loud (see, not only the griz have that) will wear on the Govs, and Cats win going away by 21...

It's not just about aggregate yards, though. AP only allows 2.8 yards-per-carry.SACCAT wrote: ***NOTE*** I did not include the FBS games in this thinking!!!

I didn't say it was the only factor, but it is a factor... It is why body blows slowly wear down a fighter.Mvemjsunpx wrote:It's not just about aggregate yards, though. AP only allows 2.8 yards-per-carry.SACCAT wrote: ***NOTE*** I did not include the FBS games in this thinking!!!

MSU wins. They just need to keep it close early then ground and pound to another win.
Re: QF - Austin Peay @ #5 Montana St.
That's just it, they may not be able to ground pound, only pound. APSU allows 91 yds/game rushing.SDHornet wrote:MSU wins. They just need to keep it close early then ground and pound to another win.
Dear Lord, We come before you and humbly ask you to grant our prayer for a veil of protection to be placed over Donald Trump. May your will be done. In Jesus name we pray. Amen
