The Iranians claim lots of things.

If they targeted infrastructure only we’ll know it. And if that’s what happened and there are no casualties then they may have achieved their goal - look strong at home but deescalate the immediate crisis.

I find it odd how someone who considers Trump to be a madman also lends the benefit of the doubt to Iranian theocrats though -

you might want to get that checked

No. I am just asking you about the fact that they seem to think it's important to say there were casualties. I saw a report on that tonight. If they are claiming there are casualties then it turns out that there are no casualties does that compromise their effort to look strong?

I'm not giving them the benefit of the doubt at all. I'm just saying that the idea of being able to say they inflicted casualties appears to be important to them.
No it does not compromise that effort. They have closed, controlled media in Iran. All they need is to launch the missiles and let their media do the rest.

Let’s see what casualties there were, if any. Until then this is just an academic exercise.

If we allow them their “retaliation” while convincing our side it was a pulled punch by Iran, then we may have ourselves a good ol fashioned 1960s style detente

I'm flipping back and forth between CNN and FoxNews.

This is not exactly breaking news, but dear lord is Sean Hannity a putz. Sometimes I forget and have to check in to remind myself.

Hmmm - no missiles were being fired until Trump did. Should any country not be able to defend themselves?

What was the point of the killing? No, not mourning him, but when you take this extra-ordinary step, there has to be a plan and an endgame.
That's an interesting question. Why don't members of the Squat and their followers consider it when defending Hamas and demonizing Israel?

You may not believe me, but I rarely if ever watch FoxNews, and only very occasionally watch CNN.

I did used to enjoy watching the first five minutes of O'Reilly (his talking points or whatever they were called), but that was about it.

I want to just fucking punch Sean Hannity. He's such a bitch.

Of course I believe you. The last time I lived in the US I had largely shut down FOX and CNN

This past Thanksgiving the only reason I got a heavy dose of MSNBC is because it is the only thing my dementia plagued father will watch. It’s all news to him since he has a 2 minute memory

Like clockwork, Republicans will get us into another large war.

But yes, continue to bitch about spending money for social services as the nation's treasure and blood is bled dry by the military industrial complex. Freedom motherf*ckers.

Even back in the days before Trump when I had no problem with the conservative movement as was voting Republican every time I couldn't stand Hannity. The big thing to me then is that he is SUCH an idiot. I looked at him as an embarrassment to the conservative side. I also looked at the fact that a bunch of conservatives were fans of his as such. Just played into the liberal claim that conservatives are a bunch of ignorant bumpkins.
Well, I believe that I must tell the truth
And say things as they really are
But if I told the truth and nothing but the truth
Could I ever be a star?

We’re in a war?

You mean for the first time since 1979 we’re acknowledging we’re in a war.

Don’t count your war chickens just yet, Treep

So far in this war, our only incursion into Iran was done by Jimmeh Carter.

This is a consequence of America acting like a rogue nation for decades in the Middle East. No one is going to finish this; it either becomes a large regional war, a shit ton of people die, and we'll face the consequences for years to come in terms of domestic and international terrorism, or we'll leave with trillions in investments down the drain. This conflict is pointless.

The only people cheering for war against Iran are the DoD contractors.

War is fairly pointless; this one in particular even moreso.

And are you fuck*ing kidding me? Criticism of your nation = radicalizing? Ok Mr. Patriot Act.

Let's just shoot up everything instead of using diplomacy. Someone has to have the bigger dick, right?

Yeah we should pull everything out tomorrow

ME
Korea
Europe

Bring it all home

Remind me again why the left whined when Trump said he was pulling out of Syria?

War sucks, but it's never pointless. It always has a point.

Edit: I see Trip edited it to "fairly pointless". So many late edits.

Nothing wrong with having regional, invited presences.

Very wrong when we start meddling with their affairs, especially through force.

Straight up immoral when we meddle with their affairs, bear bad fruit from it, and then leave an ally for slaughter which tries to help fix our own mistake.
