Good to hear at least. Hopefully that's the end of this and the US lays back.
I think we are. We could have already had half of Tehran burning by now if we wanted.

No casualties.... Iran targeted infrastructure only (I called it)

They blinked.

We won - Soleimani is dead

Yup, "won."

In the process of killing one person, we bolstered the Iranian regime at the moment their own people were protesting, strengthened the resolve and ideologies of anti-American parties throughout the region, had a few allies condemn our actions, and probably created a few terrorists in the process.

Go in guns ablazin', diplomacy be damned.

Lol. Also strengthened the resolve of PRO-American parties in the region, had a few allies applaud our actions, and killed a few terrorists in the process.

(Sincere question)
The head of the largest state supporter terror organization in the world is dead, the entire world saw it, and saw a tepid response from Teheran.

Iran has orchestrated attacks on Americans in that region for decades now - largely with few consequences save sanctions. Soleimani is the guy behind all of that.

This was a real consequence. It remains to be seen exactly how this will alter their behavior but the6 absolutely will be much more careful with how openly they aid and abet aggression against our interests.

One a scale of possible responses from Iran that were likely laid out by the President’s advisors - ten being worst case, this was surely down around a 2.

This was a desired outcome... the head of the Quds Force is pushing up daisies, Iran claims to have made a proportionate response (hah hah) and its over.

Now we can go back to asking why we are over there in the first place. Time to let Liechtenstein and the Netherlands deal with Britain’s mess.

Absolutely. Just what did we win? Now, Iran is threatening to attack our cultural sites including Walmart and Dairy Queen! :ohno:

Immediately after President Trump's announcement on Twitter that he had pre-selected fifty-two targets in Iran for destruction, including sites important to Iran's people and ancient culture, Iran's top leaders and generals vowed that they would retaliate in kind as soon as they could figure out what a rapidly declining culture that no longer values its own history or religious heritage still holds dear.
Let this serve as a WARNING that if Iran strikes any Americans, or American assets, we have targeted 52 Iranian sites (representing the 52 American hostages taken by Iran many years ago), some at a very high level & important to Iran & the Iranian culture, and those targets, and Iran itself, WILL BE HIT VERY FAST AND VERY HARD," Trump said in a pair of tweets on Saturday.
Iran's leaders debated for hours about what targets to select.

"What about their palaces, their statues, their ancient buildings dating back a thousand years?" one military strategist reportedly suggested only to discover that Americans had nothing that old and what they did have dating back to the time of America's founding was deemed racist or a symbol of white supremacy nowadays.

So...does anyone really expect a de-escalation following last night? Trump said,

I guess this means war...by proxy...long distance....via drones. :twocents: :coffee:

I do.

I think this particular crisis is over.

Iran may sacrifice some proxies over the next few weeks, but in terms of coordination they are fvcked for at least a year until they designate a new murder monkey
