Children in those countries work because they have to, for the most part. Just like the children in 19th Century England and early 20th Century USA. Those kids have to work to survive. Just to eat. For their families to eat. Or have some water. It's sad but true. You can make the argument that Apple or Nike should be using their enormous profits to help but really, the government and the country has to change. Companies have made great improvements in the work environment, legal protections and wages however there is still a lot of improvement to be made.

Also, consider the fact that with inflation, the rising wages haven't really improved the quality of life for these workers who in the late 90s were earning roughly $45/mo. The last I saw, and this was years ago, was that it costs at least $600/mon. to comfortably live in Vietnam. That was for expats. Take that into consideration. I suspect you know better than I. My information is coming from my wife's MBA courses and her career now as a graduate level professor. Teaching the business of fashion and merchandising. It's so much more than pretty dresses. The business/supply chain/marketing of a clothing company is serious business.

It was OK, but it was his weakest line. His comments concerning Weinstein and Epstein went right to the point of Hollywood hypocrisy, as many in that room were friends of both. Pedophilia and the casting couch have been features of Hollywood for a long time.
