You know Iran had the anti-air batteries on highest alert figuring there'd be some incoming with stars and stripes painted on it.
Is there any doubt the Iranians shot that plane down? I mean, the fuselage footage even shows shrapnel holes riddled throughout.

Re: The Iran War
I just rewatched the video. Congress was told not to debate Trump's war powers as it would only "embolden" Iran. Congress should be checking the Executive. That's how our government is set up.CAA Flagship wrote:How is that possible without revealing classified information? The entire discussion would be based on the validity of intelligence. And the intelligence would probably be classified because it could reveal exactly how it was obtained. And revealing how it was obtained would jeopardize future intel.Ibanez wrote: I took it as the briefers didn’t want to discuss or debate the merits/morality/legality of the attack.
So I still don't know what he is saying.
Also, the administration cited the 2002 war authorization of force as legal justification. So, how does an 18yr old authorization against Iraq after 9/11 square with actions against Iran?

Then why was the concern about what Iran would think mentioned? Any "private" debate would not be heard by Iran.Ibanez wrote:No, what they were saying is, " We did this. Don't debate it with us. The "appropriateness" has nothing to do with "authorization". If that is what he meant, he chose his words poorly.

Back to Reagan and Ollie North for a minute.
I don't understand how the two of them weren't co-awardees of the Nobel Peace Prize in the late 80s.
I mean, double-selling to both sides in the Iran-Iraq war kept hundreds of thousands of nutjob muzzies tied up with each other for a decade, undoubtedly saving thousands of lives in the civilized world.
Great work, gents. Bravo.

The plane was carrying mostly Iranians. My guess is the Iranians were incompetent and did it intentionally and are trying to save face.
I wouldn't be shocked if it was a problem with the plane, though. Boeing has been on a nose dive since it was taken over by bean counters and diversity-crats.

Perhaps because he went around sanctions to sell weapons to this very same Iranian regime.

Again, he said "appropriateness of further intervention against Iran". That is a different subject than "Trump's war powers". I'm just saying that the guy was not clear on what he was in a huff about.
