Apparently someone actually does give a fvck about NYT op-eds when they’re confirming his biases.

With a nod to his credentials, even!

But I didn’t really give a fuck that this came from the NYT anymore than I killed your messenger for coming from the Hill.

I simply read both articles and one appeared to have more of an axe to grind.

Keep trying with the gotchas though. One will find its mark eventually I’m sure. :kisswink:

Gosh...nobody said he has more. Perhaps your expert needs to improve his writing skills?

One funny tip off was the part where he accused Comey have cashing in with a book and speaking fees. Not that the other dude gets paid for his consulting work and media relations or anything...

:flash:
Comey isn't cashing in on his expertise and experience. He's cashing in on his role as the head of the FBI during an investigation where FBI lawyers hid evidence from the FISA court in furtherance of surveillance of a Presidential campaign.

He accused Comey of rushing to cash in prior to the IG being made public. If Comey was free and clear of the FBI and allegations of mismanagement (at the very least) then books are fine and good. But the author makes a very good point suggesting that Comey knew his popularity had a half-life when it came to defending Crossfire Hurricane.

How much money do you think Comey is making post-Horowitz?

They actually lay out a legitimate avenue of inquiry for impeachment there

But I believe the words involved are too big

McConnell has the votes to begin the Senate trial without further interference from democrats. Murkowski, Romney, and Collins all agree to the rules he's proposed, which are the same as the 1999 Clinton impeachment rules.

Your move, Nancy.

Well, that's false. There were witnesses deposed in the 1999 Senate trial.

Lewinsky, Vernon Jordan, and Sidney Blumenthal were all subpoenaed and deposed:

I think what you're referring to is that they've agreed to vote on the rules after opening arguments which is what they did in 1999.

I reckon she'll take some time to think it over, see what else pops up..

So, she's not really looking to impeach, since she knows it's a losing proposition.

She'd rather stall until closer to election season.

We all sort of knew that already. :thumb:

Let's see how it works out for the dems in the 2020 election.

The only thing that matters in 2020 election predictions is this:

a) will black people actually vote
b) will women actually vote

if they continue to NOT VOTE none of this matters

Women are going to vote. No worries there.

Negros will vote if the dems nominate Biden. Otherwise, no.

I've tried to tell Dems, including both of my parents, that Biden is their ONLY hope.

You must be from Mars. Biden is Trump's and the Republican's best hope. Especially the Republicans, they win either way with biden as the nominee.

I think Bernie is at least as much of a threat as I warned you about last time - more in fact because the DNC will have to wear kid gloves this time. He's out-raising the field with zero msm coverage. And he's about to start getting coverage because he's the elephant in the donk parlor that the shrinking field can't hide anymore

The Senate doesn’t have a say. The House has the sole power of impeachment. They voted to impeach. He’s impeached.

The process isn’t complete but that doesn’t mean he hasn’t been impeached by the House. He has.

Well whoopdy freaking do.

Nothing happens until Nancy sends the articles.

Then the Senate votes and we all laugh.

The Dems have known all along this has zero chance and it's all just a bad publicity stunt that lowers the bar for impeachment to a level where every time the President and House differ by party, the President will be impeached.

Nice work Democrats, as usual.

The second stage, a Senate trial, can't happen until Pelosi sends the charges over. But to say he isn't impeached is just false.

The Dems should've either waited to get Bolton and others to testify OR censured Trump. They screwed themselves in this process.

Kinda how the Republicans lowered the bar for Supreme Court nominations/appointments? We are in an election year now.....guess we have to wait until after the election, right Mitch? ;)

I don't think there is anything Bolton could say that would sway 20 R Senators. We'd be in the same place with or without Bolton's testimony: Speedy trial and aquital.

Im not seeing how censuring would have been the smart move, but perhaps I'm just missing it.

The censure would've allowed the Dems to have it on the record their disapproval without having to go through an impeachment process which wouldn't eventually remove Trump from office, which is their goal.

And you're right. Bolton can testify and have video evidence of Trump admitting to everything and then some and the GOP still would acquit.
