Col Hogan wrote:'It is stomach-churning': Progressives' dread rises as Warren and Sanders collide

The Progressive peace treaty is breaking down...
The public breakdown began with the revelation on Sunday, as first reported by Politico, that some Sanders' volunteers had been instructed to tell voters leaning toward Warren that her appeal was limited to "highly educated, more affluent people." Warren responded later in the day by accusing Sanders of "sending his volunteers out to trash me" and warning that the argument spelled out in the script risked stoking a brand of "factionalism" that roiled Democrats in 2016.

Sanders distanced himself from those talking points, but Warren's campaign pressed on, sending out a fundraising email signed by campaign manager Roger Lau, with the same message. Then, on Monday afternoon, four sources told CNN that during a private 2018 meeting, Sanders said to Warren that he did not believe a woman could win the presidency.

2020 Democratic Nomination Process Mega-thread

Post by CID1990 »

CNN is complete garbage

They create their own fact challenged narratives and jus5 run with them

Case in point - Bernie gets asked whether he ever told Warren a woman can’t win the Presidency. Bernie gives a forceful, convincing answer about how he never said it, and then talked about how he has championed women for national office, and points to actual evidence of this in the form of videos of him in the Senate.

Then the CNN dickpiece turns to Warren, completely ignores what Bernie said, and asks her, “So how did you feel when Sen Sanders told you a woman can’t win the Presidency?”

What a damn worthless network

 It was comical.

And can we stop calling these debates, please! It's essentially a 2-hr Q & A where the goal is to not offend anyone too badly.

Nope, he won't. And much the same could be said for the Rep side. Although there is a bit more of a youth movement there, it's still for the most part a bunch of geriatrics hanging onto power as long as possible.

And I think Trump wins 2020 in a walkover unless a) the economy totally shits the bed in the next 9 months or b) some bombshell (TRUTHFUL, this time) comes out between now and election day.

The only two on the stage last night worth a damn were Pete and Amy and last I looked they were 4th and 5th (out of the folks on the stage).

Bernie holding his hand up to his ear so he could hear the question... could you look more old and feeble? No.

Biden clearly wants to talk as little as possible, which is actually a smart play for him, but it's not a winning play.

Warren is the grumpiest old man of the bunch. She reminds me of an old single school teacher from the 70's.

Steyer is like a conglomeration of all the worst parts of the above three.

Unless Bloomberg gets it going, I really am starting to believe Trump wins.

I watched a Yang interview this morning and it sounds like he has the funding and intent to keep it going through the primary. I also read a few week's back that his fundraising, while not at the level of Bernie's is actually through the roof for a first time candidate who's polling behind the field. That said, he's the only candidate who's poll numbers have consistently risen the entire time.

He's interesting.

I want Bernie to win just so he can get trounced by Trump and then we can put the Bernie Sanders saga to rest.

You sound like a conservative. Congrats, hater!

Bernie at the least has been consistent and moved the discussion to the left. I also think his populist stances and honesty have greater resonance among rust belt indies.

I'm sorry that I am saying things that you don't want to hear. :(
No worries. I'd just be more interested if you'd say things that are accurate. :thumb:

It's quite a feat to pull off, but I think Elizabeth Warren is even more irritating to the human senses than Bernie Sanders.

CNN is complete garbage. They used to be ever so slightly more reputable than MSNBC and FOX but now they’re worse because they try to pretend they are moderate.

They’re like the klam of TV infotainment
