Re: Super Bowl LIV - 49ers vs. Chiefs
The big wild card in this whole mess is the fact that the 49ers haven't really faced a mobile quarterback, at least not one whose coach actually tried to take advantage of his mobility. As much as I love Mr. UOP, he has a history of not utilizing the natural mobility his quarterback gives him, and that cost his team royally last week. If Reid puts in a lot of various types of option, I don't think the 49ers will be able to handle that....

The stats page I looked at had SF 5th and KC 7th.93henfan wrote:Yes, 17th of 32 is average. 49ers are the #2 defense in the league. KC 17th. Defenses are not a push.AZGrizFan wrote:
"Average" defense? Their D gave up a whopping 12 more points than SF the entire season.
Defenses are a push. Offense is heavily weighted in KC's favor.

I'm guessing that's PPG. The typical ranking used in discussions is YPG.AZGrizFan wrote:The stats page I looked at had SF 5th and KC 7th.93henfan wrote:

None of it really matters though. This game is all about containing Mahomes.

I got to think Andy Reid is a major part of their success. KC was atrocious and then Reid comes in. He' takes them to 6 playoff appearances following such awful seasons where they had only won 2 games. And possible further evidenced by the fact that after those shitty years, his leadership has them playing in the Super Bowl for the first time in 50 years (IIRC).
I hope KC wins this year.

1. Don't abandon the run after your first series.
2. When there is less than ten minutes left in the game and you're down by two scores, it's probably best not to huddle for thirty seconds between plays.
3. Give your QB some pro-level receivers to throw to.

Hey, on #2, you have to huddle to make sure the vomit coming from the QB is way behind the line of scrimmage and also that it doesn't get onto the football. You have to give him some time to clean up and the huddle was the best option.93henfan wrote:Andy learned a few things from his 14 seasons with the Eagles:Ibanez wrote:I got to think Andy Reid is a major part of their success. Andy also learned that having a WR call the plays in the huddle, ala Freddie X, is not optimal.

Re: Super Bowl LIV - 49ers vs. Chiefs
You didn't bother to read the rest of my post, Chizzy. Wilson doesn't count because Carroll doesn't utilize him properly. I'd forgotten about the Ravens since they're not a "normal" opponent for SF, but if memory serves, the 49ers defense had serious problems with Jackson. The new Cardinals QB has taken awhile to develop, largely because of a lack of support (not to mention the fact that being thrust into a starting role in one's rookie season is tough on everybody, and shouldn't really happen at the QB position), so that doesn't really count, either....Chizzang wrote:Seahawks twiceSuperHornet wrote:The big wild card in this whole mess is the fact that the 49ers haven't really faced a mobile quarterback

I see Fox is broadcasting it in 4k for those with the capability. Although it is being upscaled to 4k rather than being filmed in 4k.

Maybe I just don't recall, but has there ever been so many SB commercials available for viewing before they actually air on Sunday? I've seen the ads for Mike Bloomberg (gun control), Michelob Ultra (shitty commercial they're playing up as fantastic), WeatherTech (lucky dog), Amazon Alexa (Ellen)...
Question. If they let it be seen before the SB, is it really a Super Bowl Commercial?

Re: Super Bowl LIV - 49ers vs. Chiefs
Took the Chiefs to cover & the over for $100.
Told my buddy to take the winnings and box 17 on roulette for me. $10 on each corner, $10 on each side and stack the rest of the $5 chips directly on 17.
If it hits it'll should pay roughly 40 x 35 or about $1400 (actually a little less because the odds on the corners/sides are ratcheted down slightly....)

Each state has a different threshold for having to pay taxes on a single big hit. I'm pretty sure that a $1400 hit in Missouri would require a form to be filled out prior to payout, and taxes withheld. I think the roulette limit here is $1200 but not positive. So if you aren't there, your buddy would be saddled with the problem because you have to give up your SSN before the payout.
You may be better off playing #17 several times in a row at $25 each until the funds are exhausted.
Also, #23, Red, Odd is the number you should bet. You're on the wrong side of the wheel.

Can we bet on the # of Joe Montana references there’ll be?
How many times they remind us it’s been 50 yrs since the Chiefs last won?
