Can they give Bloomberg the same amount of time to speak that they give those 2 blabbering broads? Good grief.....Elizabeth Warren makes Hillary look like a demure Southern Belle.

This has been entertaining to watch. Bloomberg just getting destroyed.

It will honestly take some stones for him to keep going, much less appear in another debate.

He has a few billion stones to keep going.
The MSM will selectively edit tonight’s debate for tomorrow’s newscasts, in order to protect him. Count on it.

I think Fauxcahontas is on team vagina and not team progressive. They way she stood up for AK for not remembering the Mexican president's name...she wouldn't do that for Bernie.

Re: 2020 Democratic Nomination Process Mega-thread
Yikes, what a bad performance by Bloomberg. He sounded good at times (talking about the environment, job creation, and having actual experience of doing something other than government) but he also looked really old and was just attacked relentlessly by the others on stage. He didn't look particularly animated at all, which goes to show you he's getting his money's worth with all of his ads because they do show him some life. You have to imagine that Trump would be salivating at the chance to have him as his opponent.
I thought Joe was a study in contrast - he looked distant and bored when not talking, but then when he did talk you can tell they hammered home in the debate practices that he needed to look energetic because he answered every question with the same verve. He did well, but unless he gets actual success at some point in these primaries it could all be for naught.
Bernie is just Bernie - he's been doing his schtick for so long I doubt he even thinks about it anymore, it's just muscle memory at this point. He could die on stage and he might still be the same - his body would just keep going.
And you wonder if Warren has any shot other than having Bernie drop dead soon - she's a Progressive in search of Progressive voters who haven't already sold their souls to Bernie.
Klobucher feels really stilted and stale at times. I know that's part of the Midwest approach, and I like that she's tried to have a track record, but I'm not buying it.
Mayor Pete, on the other hand, is developing into a really slick, corporatist type of Democrat that kalmia hates, but is one who has a legit chance of winning. The fact that he was surrounded by old people (except for Amy) is to his benefit. He looked the most sane up there. Right now he has my primary vote - I just can't come to grips with voting for folks who even the Catholic Church would say are too old to become Pope. Because they're really old.

Re: 2020 Democratic Nomination Process Mega-thread
From what I saw (the first half), Warren did. Sanders did well too, but nothing groundbreaking...just held his own.
Bloomberg got annihilated, and Biden was...there. He really looked good against Bloomberg and no one else.
Pete did well, but he employs a modern debate tactic (which cons perfected): Always attack 'cause it makes you look like you're winning, which is all that matters. He's light on policy but strongly goes after everyone (whether with real stats or not).
Amy is Petey's thorn at his side. She should drop out, but for that reason alone, I'd like her to go far into the primaries.

This sums it up well. Bloomberg got a good shot in at Bernie being a socialist and owning multiple homes but that's about it. Warren scalped him on the NDAs that his female accusers have signed.∞∞∞ wrote: ↑Thu Feb 20, 2020 2:33 amFrom what I saw (the first half), Warren did. All the candidates except Bernie said to follow the process and allow the superdelegates to vote on the 2nd round. Setting up Bernie to get screwed again.

I'm not as negative on Bloomberg's performance as some of the ultra liberals on here and on Twitter. I like him. Yes, he is old.....like Biden, Sanders, Warren & Trump. We need Minnesota and Pocahontas out of there so we can start talking nuts and bolts.

My mother, siblings and I have a group text and they were all watching the debate last night ( I wasn't. I was catching up on the History Channel's Washington doc). They're all Republicans, although mom and one sister lean left and are considering voting for Pete. Your analysis pretty much sums up what they were saying and admitted that Pete had a night and has a good chance.GannonFan wrote: ↑Wed Feb 19, 2020 9:58 pm Yikes, what a bad performance by Bloomberg. Unfortunately, I don't think the Dems are ready to nominate a homosexual.

Agreed. If Trump can be open about sexually assaulting women b/c he's rich then who cares if Bloomberg said something 35 years ago. Show me a man or woman that HASN'T said something sexist/racists/ageist/ *-ist. This purity litmus test weeds out good people and bogs us down in garbage when we should be talking about their ideas.

The assumption is Bloomberg is "good people". I don't think he is. Most of them are not. You could see the disdain for being questioned at all last night. It was on his brow. I'm no moralist and understand things can be taken out of context but his arrogance and disconnect from what normal people experience is rather obvious.Ibanez wrote: ↑Thu Feb 20, 2020 7:36 amAm I actually agreeing with real jeff or MAGA-troll jeff?mainejeff wrote: ↑Thu Feb 20, 2020 7:04 am

Re: 2020 Democratic Nomination Process Mega-thread
Democrats embrace the homosexual community for their votes, but there is no way that they are voting for a homosexual candidate.
I think that there are quite a few homosexuals....and blacks for that matter......that will end up voting for Trump. Trump has kept Pence in check and has not gone after gays (yet). Same with blacks. I expect if (when) he is re-elected that might/will change.
I think that Dems get strong support on issue of equality and the environment. And when I say equality....I don't mean the Bernie Sanders type of economic equality. Many Dems still believe in Capitalism despite the mainstream media trying to shoehorn all Dems as Socialists/Communists . That reminds me of how the media tries to make it seem like everyone that voted for Trump are MAGA extremists.
Anyway......if Bernie Sanders is the nominee....the left side of the Dem Party are in for a very rude awakening.
